Hi Johnathen, this is a really good presentation. Every steps are well explained with enough comments to know what is the purpose of each properties/options. Maybe something that can improve your presentation, when you are inserting connection points, you can multi select all the terminals in the list and multi select each sketch points in the same order as the terminals then click OK button, it will create all the connection points in one step. Also I'm not totally sure that the connection points were created on the correct side of part, but we don't really care as the principle is to know how to do it. One more thing that could improve your presentation is to do a routing with this connector at the end, just to show the result. It will make it amazing :) Congratulations again for this presentation it's really useful.

Really nice video! But when im adding terminals there are no terminal marks. each individual terminal does say its an own circuit. When im adding the cpoints from manufacturer reference, Im getting 0_0, 0_1, 0_2 etc, as if it was one circuit. and when I want to route it says that the cpoints: 1_0, 2_0 etc are missing. Any idea what I did wrong?

What if I want to add the individual pins into the connector assembly so they are represented in the harness drawing and BOM as well? How is that set up so the pinout information is displayed in the harness drawing and includes whether it's a Male or female pin?

Thank you for your question, the short answer is yes, it is absolutely possible and done by many customers. To properly answer we would need to understand ‘how’ you would wish to have the drawing view presented. An example drawing would be great. For BOM purposes, when the connector component is defined you have the option of specifying a single part number, an assembly part number or a group of part numbers that can be used to define your component.

Hello and thank you for the watching the video. I would first make sure that the add-in has been turned on through ‘Tools->Addins’. Second you need to ‘link’ your assembly to the electrical project through the ‘Tools->Process’. For additional details, please contact us directly or your SOLIDWORKS VAR.
