SOLIDWORKS: Insert Part vs Save Bodies for Master Modeling

I liked it, but kind of rushed. Kind of hard to wrap my head around when to do what after splitting bodies. I'm going to watch it again at .75 speed and let my tiny brain catch up. Good video though, great subject. Thanks for making it! Hawk Ridge System Videos are typically very good!

I wonder if you can help me When bodies are selected in the multibody part, then Right click / Insert into new part.. The new saved file has all the bodies and retains the cut-list properties If features are added to the original multibody part, the appear on the new multibody part (showing bi-directional activity) I can create a drawing of the new multibody part with cutlist and all info is as inputted in the original multibody part Bodies can be deleted from the new multibody part, however.... If i want to add an additional body from the original multibody part to the new multibody part it seems to be impossible I can resave the bodies and use the Right click / Insert into new part.. and give it the same name but the file ID must change When i go to the drawing , all dimensions are dangling even though the new multibody part has one additional item. Can you help, is there a work around?

Can I manipulate with all new saved parts as with different parts? I mean that it can be easier to design a mechanism using a multibody part with one basic sketch. Then save all bodies as different parts. And then move these parts assuming that they are not fixed to the basic sketch?

Yes the bodies that are saved off into parts (whether using Save Bodies feature or Insert Part feature) can be inserted into a new Assembly, and there they can be mated so that they move around as desired.
