Great video, but I have a question, why is it when I increase the distance ( say 10m ) between the two planes which my profiles exist in I do not get the same result? I don’t get the tapered shape,SolidWorks takes the bigger circle and give me the uniform shape which I don’t need.

The out side shape in a loft is being generated sort of like a spline so when we change the distances it alters how the body is created. if we want more specific control then adding intermediate profiles or guide curves is the way to go. It can also be dependent on where you selected on each profile. For a more specific answer I would get in touch with your VAR to see if they can get you pointed in the right direction.

Although I don't know what dose VAR stands for 😅, I would love a bit more demonstrating. In the same time I will be trying the suggested remedy. Thanks again 👌🏻♥️

I have issue with SW sheet loft bend. I make half loft part, actually quite similar to one you show here inside your video. (It look like U-shape) Both sides are produced by 8 bends. (facets) If I sum all angles per bend what SW generate when unfold , they give me 71.68 degree instead 90?! Also if I try that given parameters from SW to real bending machine and part, the part stay quite open. Not as 90degree desired. (unfortunately seems KZbin doesn`t allow me to post external links, so I can give you the part to see) From other hand, if I calculate like that: 90deg (desired) - 71.68 (SW calculated) that give me 18.32 deg missing. Then that divided by 8 bends come to 2.29 deg extra per bend. Now adding that extra degree to each bend angle given by SW, in real life test produce almost right desired part. The question for me is what I`m doing wrong or what setting should change so I can get right bend angles during unfolding process...

It is probably an issue of the wrong K factor (or bend allowance) in Sheet metal properties. Default values are often based on theoretical values that may not reflect real world conditions.

@@goengineer Thanks for the replay! I thought the same, but even I try with K-factor from 0.35 up to 0.55 (just for SW test) it kept the same division of facets as so, that if I sum all bend degrees it was below 90 in total. Almost like skipping one bend.. I played with the XLS tables, calculate some data and enter it. Then select that table and end up again with similar issue. Seems all videos show how to connect scetches to make loft, but didn't found any where the loft unfold and show how many bend are with degree values so I can figure out my mistake...
