I have been a SolidWorks user since 2006. I have never had a use for putting text on a machined part, so I never looked into using this feature. This was VERY informative and helpful! I may just have to find a use for this on our machines! Thanks!

We unfortunately do not support SOLIDCAM so cannot be sure about where the issue is.

How do you overcome "Sketch contains more than one open contour" error?

tools>sketch tools>repair sketch (to only check for gaps) tools>sketch tools>check sketch for feature (more complex analysis, includes dangling sh*ts, overlap, etc)

well, the relationship between text and the part isn't even right...how can u set correct relationship so that before sketch there is no (-) in front?

How do you rotate that text? I see the I icon for it but when I click on it in SW it does nothing.

Sketch Text in SolidWorks is controlled by selecting a sketch construction line entity to have the text follow. The text then uses that entity as the baseline. You would then position the sketch entity in the orientation you wish to have.
