Good day, for SOLIDWORKS, even an i3 Laptop is good enough for beginners, but as you advance, you will need more processing power, mostly SOLIDWORKS does good on Intel and NVIDIA graphics, so a decent setup will be i5 + 8gb ram + gtx 1660. Usually if you go for Asus they give you additional slots for expansion so in the future you can add more ram or storage etc.

I want to learn Solidworks. What version operates offline for a minimal purchase? I was told that I could purchase Solidworks Maker for approx 48/yr. Is that true? Thanks in advance.

You can get a student license for $99 for a year if you are an official student somewhere for example in a college, university or in my course.

Hello. Really good tutorials and advice. I just want to ask you, from one day now I can not see the reference system in my solidworks . You know those 3 orange arrows show everytime i select a part or component. I don´t know how I deactivate it, PLEASE could you tell how I can active it again. I try to google it, and apply the solution but still I can not do it. Please if anyone could help me I will be gratefull. Thanks.

hi, so i am a total beginner, and am looking for an affordable ticket into solidworks. But I'm going solo, so don't need all the collab functions. Is this package still the "cheap" way to go? Or is there a non-collab version that is better for me?

I just went with the hobby license of 3D Experience. $50 a year and you can use it to take the basic certification exams. Least expensive option I know of if you aren't a student. I still like Fusion 360 more but its good to know both.

You will have to get in touch with their support team, you might have not been assigned the same, it is also possible to link that to the desktop version, so you can try that as well.

Cloud is definitely the future, think about other domains that have gone cloud, Letters = emails, sms = whatsapp. etc. Its high time CAD got a massive overhaul as well.
