Curry, Chinese, Roast, Spaghetti Western, Dirty Harry, Alien, Omen, and Real Ale. I don't know if it is because we are a similar age, Patrick, but if I ever did a Q&A, these would have been my answers too. I'm off down to my Dad's in Cheltenham today, and I'll be cooking a pot of chicken stew and freezing some meals for him. So much in common. I love these Q&As and getting to know you a bit better, too. Plus, I've subscribed to the Wye channel, so I get quite a few channels off you. I also discovered Des Greene due to a shoutout you did. I hope you continue your shoutouts going forward as they are cracking channels. I, too, am taking a break for Christmas and New Year. KZbin is fun, but that is all it is for me. With an aged family on mine and Amanda's side, we will be spending time with family. My last video of 2023 is Margery Hill and Outer Edge (shameless plug), which is out next Thursday. I'm looking forward to part three, and if I don't get a chance too again, I'd like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Take care, Patrick, and thanks for sharing.

You've clearly got good taste Chris! 😁 Hope you get the chance to do a Q&A one day. Enjoy Cheltenham. I'm off to Weston-super-Mare at Christmas to spend a few days with Mum who's on her own. Linda and I will have our Christmas when I return home. Good idea to have a break from KZbin now and then. I'm thrashing out my films now whilst I can as I know sometime I will have had enough. A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too Chris. All the best 👍

Greetings from Canada, Patrick! When I got my new laptop a couple of years, I got a YT subscription. You were the very first YTuber I subscribed to! I saw your video on the incredibly enchanting Forest of Dean/Wye Valley. There was something in your presentation that struck a chord with me. I believe it was your obvious love of the countryside. That view of Symonds Yat was Spielberg awesome. " I like this guy!" I would say I have watched at least 75% of your videos. Always look forward to seeing your notification. Cheers! William

So many wonderful questions in this one too. Thanks for answering my question. I’d love to see you rambling in Wales and Scotland both are great places. I’m so glad you still see your old friends occasionally. Shame about Richard. No age that. I’m sure you’re a Whovian too but I could be wrong. The omens great and the spaghetti westerns were superb. Filmed in Spain too. There’s a documentary where two guys rediscovered the cemetery they built for the ending of the good the bad and the ugly. Really interesting. Aliens, Dirty Harry all super. You cannot beat old horrors. The Fog, Salem’s lot etc. I can well believe that you’re tired after a day’s filming. It’s a very long exhausting day. So glad you’re doing these questions and answers so enjoyable. Cheers Patrick and thanks once again

My pleasure Kelly. I just love Wales, and there are so many places to see there. Scotland is wonderful and used to go up to Inverness fairly regularly many years back when I was with a previous partner who had folks up there. I am indeed a Whovian, the classic series though, not a fan of NuWho. That's how I met all my Bristol friends as we were all Whovians back then. Richard was only 41 when he died, still only seems like yesterday when he left us. I've seen that documentary about the cemetery in the Good the Bad and the Ugly. Glad you've been enjoying the questions Kelly, thanks for all your support 👍

Hey, Patrick that was brilliant - all great questions. So yeah it's down to motivation then and the fact you love making films and posting them - the community has a lot to do with it. I get that putting material in the folder so to speak. I also get curry's - ha ha! Well, have a great weekend. It's raining here but all good. Mark

Thanks Mark, glad you liked the questions. Yeah I've been motivated lately and have just been getting on with filming whilst I'm in that frame of mind as I know there will come a time where I've had enough of KZbin for a while. Good you appreciate curry too 😁 Raining here too but all good as well. Have a great weekend too Mark, all the best 👍

@@solitaryrambler A pleasure as always Patrick. Good to hear of the motivation. Yeah, you have to store up the material when you can. I have some of that motivation right now too. Ha, motivated to eat curry tomorrow also. Take care - hope it doesn't rain to much.

Very interesting talk Patrick and very well presented. I can understand the slow transition into youtube vlogging. Very similar to my transition from one media platform e.g. facebook to youtube and music development too. I have to admire your tenacity and endurance with all you put into your films. 🙂Wonder how long to edit each film? I take ages - as long as 6 hours or more !! Thanks and have great weekend.
@solitaryrambler
@solitaryrambler 9 ай бұрын
Thanks again Shanita. I think when you look back on earlier films, you see what works for you and what doesn't, and even after all this time I'm still trying to improve what I do. If I've been out filming on a Saturday, I will spend most of Sunday editing the one film, which involves trimming each scene, removing those not to keep in the final cut, adding transitions, adjusting and /or replacing audio for each scene, adding titles, researching and recording narration. During several weekday evenings when I can, I work on the music which, for me, is the trickiest part when I compose a different score for every film. So in many cases, similar to your films, I will use a theme more than once, but record a different version to keep it fresh, even if it's just playing the theme in another key. Hope your weekend has been a great one too 👍

I was surprised Lake District only made it to number five on the list. I get the added personal reasons for the Wye Valley and Pembrokeshire, but thought it would be no lower than 3! Watching your Lake District videos made it my favourite UK place to watch.
@solitaryrambler
@solitaryrambler 9 ай бұрын
I don't know why you're surprised as it's all a matter of personal opinion. The fact that I included the Lake District at all in my top 10 makes it very high I think when you consider how many locations there are in the UK. You've perhaps never been to the Malvern Hills or Elan Valley, but again, it's all personal opinion.

@@solitaryrambler I've done Malvern Hills and they're fantastic but the Lake District edges them all for me. I was surprised a little just because of something you'd said in the past to me about the Lakes. Throughly enjoy your channel. Never miss an episode.
