Where the hell have you been spending your nights? Solo and Last Jedi are the two worst films in the entire Star Wars. That might change if Rian Johnson does any more films. But for now, they are two truly shitty movies.

@Stratowind TFA punches you into the face saying "Everything accomplished in the OT doesn't matter, now buy this new shiny shit" and then TLJ doubled down on it punching you again and saying "Everything TFA established as important doesn't matter either, now buy this new shiny shit and say we are clever for subverting expectations". The Prequel trilogy may have had shoddy writing, but they had good world building (paving the way for stuff like The Clone Wars) and didn't need to shit all over the OT in a disgusting move to replace it. For all his faults, Lucas had heart and wanted to tell a story first and foremost. Disney doesn't. They just want to churn out movies for the sake of making movies, milking the name they bought for a shit-ton of money. Interestingly, despite that Rogue One and Solo turned out great and kinda good. Probably because the writers weren't forced to adhede to what the higher-ups of Disney thought their flagship has to look like. It's the Sequel Trilogy that feels like a soulless product made from a checklist of what cynical executive think would sell, the stuff you'd expect a faceless megacorporation like Disney to mass produce. It's not just charmingly bad like ep1 and ep2, it's just plain insultingly bad.
@dschehutinefer5627
@dschehutinefer5627 4 жыл бұрын
@Stratowind For starters TFA ruined the OT by completely burning all the achievements accomplished by it. Why did we even bothered rooting for the Rebels when the New Republic gets obliterated with the snap of a finger and the Empire is stronger than ever? When Luke betrays everything he ever stood for without any discernable reason and Han also turned his back towards his friends and pissed off into his smuggler ways, resetting all of his character development? For all intends and purposes, the OT is rendered entirely pointless. Nothing matters anymore. And "subverting expectations" was put in quotation marks because I was quoting Rian Johnson's inane justifications for his story working against Abrams' set-ups. Not that I ever expected Abrams to follow up on them, given his track record with making shit up as he goes along. Though I'm not sure how you could see Episode 7 and get out with the expectations that Luke's exile, Rey's parents and Snoke's background are totally pointless.

I didn't think it was too bad, but I've only seen it in full once. Then all of the cringe moments and B.S. they injected started to come back to me... I think that he is wrong about the Imperial march music being played during the recruiting scene, but Robot Head does a pretty good job with just about everything else here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpbbipuMlpeXmrc Another problem that Robot Head doesn't address, as I recall, is the lack of the force. You might have/get the argument that Han supposedly has never seen or experienced the force, as he states in Ep. IV. Okay, but the rest of the universe has, even if he "ignores" the signs. The point is that Star Wars doesn't seem like Star Wars without the force, it seems like Star Trek, only dirtier. Even in Rogue One we saw the effects the force and its use by Darth Vader. BTW, this is also one of the reasons why I have concerns about The Mandalorian.

@@Game-The-System Screw the Force. If there's anything that has held Star Wars back it's an overreliance on that plot element. The Jedi stuff made sense in the Skywalker stories, but as the movie is set a few decades before Star Wars, where Tarkin casually states to Vader that the Jedi are forgotten and that he is 'all that is left of their religion', he was explaining to us how the Force is seen in the universe: as an extinguished religion, like how the Norse gods would be seen today. For me, the Star Wars universe was clearly a 'post-Force' society. I thought it was one of the strong points of the Solo movie that they acknowledged that.
@Game-The-System
@Game-The-System 4 жыл бұрын
@@berendharmsen Interesting comment. Never heard of a fan have such a callous attitude towards the force. Do you feel like the original trilogy was "held back?" You are kidding, right? Held back from being more successful? More popular?!? Those are rhetorical questions... I must admit that the force does in fact plays a pivotal role in the balance of power in the Star Wars universe. However, it has never been just a gimmick. In the original trilogy it was always used as a tool, kinda like the use of fire as a tool in medieval and pre-medieval stories. Those in power know and understand how to use it, but power and who wields it is really the plot point, not the force itself. How would you do without using it in a universe where it is so integral? Also... We are talking about science-fantasy here, not science-fiction. The force is what makes Star Wars different from Flash Gordon, Star Trek, Buck Rodgers and a host of other science-fiction stories. I'm not saying every single Star Wars single story necessarily has to have some role of the force in it. However, it is a quintessential part what makes that universe unique. Simply ignoring it or removing it all together would be to remove the soul of the stories and be a mistake.

Patrick Mahomes this was definitely the most juice the falcon ever will have to use because of that sustained tug of war at the black hole part and the amount of damage it took, including smashing into multiple rocks and crash landing on an asteroid, taking out a landing strut, eventually losing a turret and radar dish, then cutting out the engines from how much it was pushing only to be maxed out twice by coaxium discharges.

@largol33t1
@largol33t1 Жыл бұрын
The design with front of the ship filled in is the original. It was never meant to be vastly different from the ship we all saw later on in the SW films. The reason there's a cutout in the MF is because two hidden teeth-like clamps are inside. The "teeth" hold custom made containers so Han and Chewie could fill them with black market goods to take to their customers. Remember, the Falcon was intended to be a smuggler's ship. The SW canon are so strict about this little tidbit that Kenner originally was going to sell the toy ship with a container. That's why when inside the huge creature, I wasn't surprised to see the MF jettison the front section.

It’s interesting to see that the majority of the Falcon’s design we saw from the Original Trilogy came from the damage it took from this one movie. How did the Star Destroyer which is a huge ship managed to navigate through that pretty tight tunnel with many tight turns that fast? Lando said that it came there because of the slave revolt they managed to start on Kessel/the Coaxium they stole but they escaped Kessel rather quickly after the revolt started/their mission was done and the Star Destroyer seemed to appear just shortly after they entered the tunnel again which means that it must have moved fast through it.

One of the coolest sets from empire was the top hatch lift tube, (the bottom half) similar to the turret ladder well but cooler, it would've been good to c the entrance to it in the falcons corridors as well as other rooms & booths, but no wot do we get in rise of sky walker, a tape being tossed down on the end of a string ad the hatch opens, po is just stood in mad corridor, wtff happened to the cool looking lift shaft, has it been disregarded for some P. c reason, hell it's not even in blueprints or interior layout, plz can someone help me with this conundrum as it upsets me no end????? Plz someone try come up with a viable explanation, 😭😒🙄it's the most burning question I've had in 40 years, help me with this plz?

You seem to forget Solo made a lot of modifications once the Falcon was his. It makes no sense to put a missile launcher behind an escape pod, ergo there were no missile launchers at that time and Han installed them later.

It’s not an escape pod. It’s a cargo pod. Which Lando converted into his personal luxury suite.

hey everybody. haven't seen the movie yet, so my question might be regarded as "slightly but unquestionable noobish": but what the hell was that thing at 03:19 and was it a Black Hole that killed the beast due to infinitessly strong gravitational pull and han falconing around straight?

Why was there an escape pod between the mandibles? That makes no sense. The mandibles are there because the YT-1300 was designed to push cargo containers.

@@GeekCinema I wouldn't call having an escape pod presumably built from scratch a modification. I mean, I've never seen any pictures or writing about one being an "official design" by any company. Of course I'm probably going into far too much detail about a sci-fi spaceship 😆

@@GeekCinema When I hear modification I always imagine a small change. I mean, I know it's not an overhaul of the whole ship but still seems like a big change. I suppose Han did do a lot of modifications that taken together could be called an overhaul though...

Tord 67 - well, technically it’s just a modified YT freighter. There were lots of them, so there is probably a bunch more used pods out there that Rey and Chewie could buy and put on the Falcon. If they really wanted to...

i like the Falcon in its undamaged state and Landoos interior is kind of cool. But i am still not warm with the frontpiece being a auxiliary craft. According to the wiki there is a escapepod in the back and i just don't find purposes in which a ship of the size of the Falcon could ever need a smaller craft. If it were a garage for a special one/ two seater racing ship like a space ferrary that a rich person would use to impress girls that would be cool but a oddly shaped smaller craft that landoo obviously only uses if the situation is really really bad is strange.

No! They did not do the ship Justice, It should have been more of an introduction, Like the GT 500 in going in 60 seconds, She should have been docked in a high-end Landing pad Next to other rich asshole's ships, And then introduced to han
