Must be a little soul destroying to sing to an ‘audience’ who aren’t listening. I think it’s a little ignorant on their part; they may as well put on some background music from an iPad or something?

Welcome back, Frank! Glad the show and trip went well-- Best wishes to you and yours this Holiday season! 🙂After I had a board pop a fuse on me at a gig about 25 years ago now (fortunately only a mile from home), I started keeping a bag o' stuff in the car-- spare mic and clip, cable, instrument cable, patch cable, cheap 4-channel mixer, fuses, strap, hard copy of my lyric sheets, power strip, gaff tape, and an extension cord. The thing that I always need to get out of it: the 30-foot extension cord.
@FrankPersico8 күн бұрын
That’s a great tip, I never thought about keeping a 4-channel mixer in there.

I visited my wife in Thailand back when we worked on cruise ships and we had time inbetween ship contracts. I did the same thing - came back jet lagged and practically went straight to my gig at Wilberts in Cleveland. It went fine. I find rust doesn't start to build up until about the 2 month mark. Recently I came back to gigs after 2 years without a single show. Boy oh boy was I rusty. Now after 51 shows I'm just starting to feel like myself again.

Great video! Thank you for bringing us along on your gigs. I must say I enjoy all your content - especially your tutorials. I do keep a couple extra sets lying around, but I’m probably years away from gigging (if ever), but this great lesson is duly noted; «keep an extra set of string in the car» 😆

Hey Frank, lots o music here in S FLA…warmer too. Hope the trip was good. I played a gig last night (full band), we hadn’t gigged in while and we all had great energy and chops. I think sometimes being away from it for a bit makes you better. Thx

I usually prepare very well for gigs to the point of actually over practicing. Sometimes life gets so busy and there’s a show every now and then that I almost just don’t get anytime to run through but I find I do really well at those gigs too. In fact, sometimes those are better gigs. Haha. I think the not over practicing on those times gets me more excited and passionate about the songs and performing them. I only gig a couple times a month so weeks will go by between gigs so I guess I’ve just got a good memory. *knocks on wood. lol.

Welcome Back Frank! Happy to hear the first gig after returning from Thailand was a success! Quick Question, as I have the same Fishman line array speaker. I Set my reverb on the 3rd button from left. How much reverb do you add for vocals and guitar at this gig, and all others? 9 o’clock position of dial? Happy Holidays!!
@FrankPersico9 күн бұрын
That’s funny I use the 3rd preset as well. I tend to go easy on very. Usually guitar and vocals like 10 o clock. But people on this channel tend to tell me I should out more on my voice

Frank Frank, Frank! Again, with the open coffee in the car. LOL. Do you also carry spare clothes in case you spill your drink? Just like a boy scout, you should always be prepared. I already started implementing one of my music related resolutions. That is to play more new music. That means both songs that are older, but new to me, as well as more currently released songs. It is really easy to get stuck in the rut of just playing the old favorites - especially music that was popular when I was a teen and young adult (80's, 90's). There really is good new music being released. I'm currently working my way through the Green Day album, Saviors, released this past January. I'm having a blast learning these new songs.
