Solo bikepacking the 185-mile Outer Hebridean Way (in winter) - PART 1

Wild camping in winter, bikepacking and using the ferries and causeways to cross between the 10 islands of the Outer Hebrides. What a stunning place this is. Night 1 camping by the ocean, night two on a Heather-moor. Night 3 I avoid a huge Atlantic storm, and Night 4 I find a perfect campspot.

I cycled and wild camped this route over five days a few years ago, absolutely loved it. I'm going to do it again with more time so I can explore the many features that I missed and to do this great route justice. Cheers, I enjoyed your video 🚴‍♂️👍 Edit; when I cycled it I saw only two potholes, one with spray paint and a warning sign around it and the other one had a couple of workmen around it doing repairs! And yes, very polite traffic. It was April, hardly any other cyclists either.

I still vote for November. No one else about. Gets dark at 4pm so you never miss a sunset! Mind you, I didn't see many because of the storm clouds :)

In summer, you go to one of several cycle shops, to get it fixed. In winter, you don't because they're shut :)

You'd be better off relying on an Eagle than a car! The lack of traffic was astonishing to me....
