Solo Bush Tent Life. Weeknights

In this video I do tent stuff on weeknights. I have an amazing hamburger and get a bunch of work done. The season is almost over and I am embracing every last second and my canvas tent shack in the wild before the snow is gone.
--
Where do I live?
Northern Canada.
How much experience do I have?
That depends. I am pretty good at starting a fire these days and gathering wood. But I don't really have true bushcraft skills and definitely no carpentry or construction skills or training. I could probably make a shelter if I had to, but that would just come from all the KZbin training (watching) over the years.
What gear do I use?
Canon 90D camera
Rode videomicro
Sigma Art 18-35
Canon 1.8 50mm stm
Canon 18-55mm stm
Canon 10-18mm stm
A cheap 15 yr old tripod
I do not live at the tent. I just visit whenever I can.

Jay, your passion is amazing, just because winter is coming to an end dont let that put your passion for your tent on hold. Do whatever you have to do to get to the place that you love. Get a canoe, get a trolling motor, get a helicopter for Christ sakes, just do something to get back to your tent in the summer and fall months, and bring us along because we are hooked too. Be proud of what you have acomplished, its awesome.

Great idea with the way you built up the plywood frame inside the tent , especially the wood floor .... I've seen videos where people pitch a big tent like that on top of snow with no floor then fire up the wood stove and all that turns to water and mud inside the tent... Too big a mess for me !!

Really enjoy your videos Jay. I'm from Yk and have a tent in the bush and you really capture what its like out there. As you and others have mentioned that table is such a great addition to the setup. One of the interesting parts of camping north of 60 is the light. From the November/December low light and the use of lanterns and flashlights to spring time where the days are long and the inside of the tent is illuminated from 5:30 am to 10:00pm

Thanks Jay, you make just that bit of relief possible to a person that is at home in a village but much rather be away in Nature, just to be there and watch, listen and smell that special thing.. I got out on a horse when I could, I did canoeing, had dogs that of course loved it and since all that is gone and I am already Years at home in a 'lockdown ' due to disability, you and some more you watch too make it lighter for me 👌 And I honestly am so used to that lockdown feeling that I absolutely do not understand those that go in protesting against this situation.. smh.. They should be ashamed risking other people's lives.. But I stop about that and take in all you had to give! And against the muddy time those pellets are fine on that spot, especially when it is levelled out. I also know that the days out are gone now.. and I seriously can advise you to learn and canoe.. That is straining and can be a struggle but also very Very peaceful, the point of view of the water is So Beautiful.. 😎😊 You don't have to answer this, I just will see what you will be doing and am just fine with it all! 😁
