I watched the entire video. Found it riveting. Thank you, Jay. You are you, authentic, candid, and it's wonderful and clearly a lot of folks respond to that. Pls. keep doing what you're doing! People who are drawn to your style, your ethics, your attitude will continue following you if you continue listening to your inner voice and let it guide you. You're fascinating to watch. Thanks again for all your work on your channel.

It boils at -44° it would still work while boiling it's once you drop below boiling that it wouldn't vaporize to burn. Fun fact. When transitioning from liquid to gas propane expands 270 times it's size. So 1 gallon of liquid propane is equivalent to 270 gallons of vapor propane.

Have you considered having a drive through garage with a two tarp doors to park in? It wouldn't take much to warm that ski-doo. (5 ft. high , a 4 feet wide) It would keep the snow and wind off your sled.

No expert but 30 plus years of burning in a wood burning stove. I’ve never cleaned the glass once. Get your fire hot and it should clean itself than dirty right back up during an efficient burn. Should clean itself while you’re having a raging fire to warm up the tent. Maybe I’m just lucky

I seriously can’t wait until Jay gets the recognition he has earned by getting a million subscribers❤. I’m going to go back and rewatch all of his videos and comment on each one. I don’t know if that will help the algorithm but I’m going to do it just in case it does 😊

I use a little bit of ash from the fireplace on a wet paper towel to clean the stove glass. Sure, wet newspaper with some ash on it would work too. The ash is mildly abrasive and I believe there is some chemical action there as well.

Seems like they should make easily detachable battery’s for snow mobiles so you can just bring them in the tent or wherever

Good old bubble foil. Works great. I’m 61 years old in Maine and my family has used it for years. Please let us know about the seat. As you keep sitting on it the bubbles pop, like packing wrap. We always used a padded pre-made seat from the store for the THRONE. 👍. Don’t forget like Kyle did, skirt the cabin.

Are there some legal issues when it comes to tents vs cabins? I assume the land is not private, so I'd assume havin non-permanent lodging is fine.

If your floor joists are on 16OC, you could precut some 2 inch foam at home 14.75 inches wide and bring a couple cans of great stuff with you and make quick work with further insulating the bottom. Great stuff would fill the little air gaps and lock them into place real well!!

An idea.....as the lake down the hill has a lot of rocks....it may be good to create a pile of rocks around the stove to absorb the heat while it is on to create a heat well...this may buy a couple hours of extra heat into the the early mornings.
@georgebenjmain38185 сағат бұрын
Why don’t you cover up your snow machine when left outside .. I am sure an insulated cover over the engine would help your cold start issues for sure 👍
@TheKlokan445 сағат бұрын
while the propane and white gas lights are nostalgic .....best to switch over to LED rechargeable battery lights......the waste of the spent cylinders and co2 etc....makes it a good choice......get a cheap mP3 player to loop the hissing sound.....just sayin' or have less winter in the NWT, the new temperate zone

Great vids! A few things with your snowmachine for cold starts: Try a bit thinner oil ( at dealers advice of course) this will help on very cold starts. The battery may not be enough CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) and I know you don't always have a power source but there is a battery heating pad that may also help. Lastly maybe have your stator checked to see if it is charging your battery properly! You may have a parasitic draw but I think its just the very cold temps. AGM batteries are mostly used in powersports and usually perform very well in the cold.

I love watching your videos, I believe I have watched nearly if not all of them. Just wanted to let you know this may have been the best video I have watched. The quality of photography just keeps improving, really showing the beauty of what you are doing, and where you are at. Very much enjoyed your commentary and descriptiveness of the cabin and what you were doing. Just wanted you to know I appreciate the work and effort you put into your videos. It makes them very enjoyable to watch. Keep up the good work, and thank you for the content. Watching from Nebraska! By the way I really like the cooking portions of your videos, and wish you would show more of that like you did in the past.

My skidoo has the same issue. It’s just what it is. I use a booster pack all the time to start mine once it hits -20 I’m screwed and it won’t start. The battery needs to be warm. I either heat mine up near the stove when out or just make sure my booster is charged. I have given up on trying to figure out what it is to fix it. If you can figure it out. Please! Let me know

-40 is propanes boiling point, that means above it is gas and below it is liquid. So yeah it liquifies and won't push out into the burner like a gas would.
