Some unseen footage from an earlier trip to Ullapool during the big heatwave of June 2018. The following day I met a friend off the Inverness bus and we walked the first stage of the alternative route of the Cape Wrath Trail to Knockdamph bothy. Sorry, no video was made at the bothy. The heat got too much and the trip got abandoned 2 days later. I will start again on this route from Ullapool to Cape Wrath in Spring 2019. In the meantime watch out for some more unseen footage of The Cape Wrath Trail, coming in the new year! Happy Christmas everyone, See you back on the hhll in 2019..

Just wanted to say thanks to all those still watching and commenting on my brother Andrew's videos. He would have been so pleased to know that they are still watched. He was taken from us too soon and there was so many walks he still wanted to do.

I watched most of your bros videos and I've been to many of the places he has because of him. When he passed I was so shocked because by that point I felt like I knew him through his videos and I still remember writing a comment somewhere on here in tears when I found out. I never met him and I never will but he brightened up my life. I've said it before and I'll say it again around this time next year "Rave In Peace" I'll always remember you you loverly fella.

Dear Andrew, I came across your channel while researching the WHW, Since the first video I was hooked on your channel. I was even watching one of your videos today and wondering why its been over a year since your last, only to find out by chance you've passed away. Even though I never met you, I'm absolutely gutted mate. I'm doing the WHW end of June and I'll be carrying a orange sainsbury bag in your honor. RIP Andrew the legend

Very sad hearing of Andrew's passing. Seemed to be a really genuine, down to earth guy and very likeable. By far my favourite thing to watch, ahead of any huge budget TV programmes or films. Very entertaining and inspiring. Discovered 'Head for the hills' a couple of years ago and the following weekend I got up off my arse and did my first ever long distance walk, the west highland way. Changed my life. Rest in peace pal.

Andy hadn’t finished his journey and life seems so unfair! He’s on a different journey now, one we can no longer share. Hopefully his friends and followers will pay him great tribute in remembering his great love of the Scottish Highlands, his quirky sense of humour, and his enjoyment of the good things in life and by living our own lives with respect for each other and for the environment and with a sense of making the most of each day as we journey forward from where Andy left off. Carpe Diem and Cheers!

Just found out the terrible news. I’m just shattered. My husband and I so enjoyed Andrew’s vlogs of his adventures. We’ve been following along for about three years now, and felt like we knew him. His quirky sense of humour and his approach to hiking were such fun to watch as he took on each trail armed with his trusty balaclava and a Tesco bag. The million-kilo backpack bit never got old either. My goodness, he’ll be missed. My sincerest condolences to Mr. Globetrotter, and all of Andrew’s friends and family.

I subbed immediately and laughed heartily at every instalment thereafter! Goodbye Herm..I just felt, with the sad news been such a bolt from the blue that I had to say my piece. Will carry a Sainsbury's poly bag on all my wild camps from now on... who needs fancy dry bags, when you can get a poly bag for free buddy..wish I'd been lucky nuff to have met you buddy and sorry to you and yours for the loss.ATB

steve's Days off my own thoughts exactly. His videos were both informative and entertaining. He certainly could walk the walk. Did you notice how he never once mentioned any sort of hardship. Like sore feet or a heavy pack or miles still to do. He just got on and did it. A massive inspiration to me. I’m someone who did it all years ago and now in my mid 50’s got a bit out of shape. But his videos got me going. To the point where my cholesterol got put in check. As did my blood pressure and I also reversed diabetes too. All down to inspiration. And I told him too on one of our chats. It’s a shame I didn’t get around to meeting him. Like you I’m very very sad. You should still go camping though Steve. That’s what Andrew would want. atb. Such sad news. Whatever words I type feel inadequate. Does anyone know if there is a charity people are donating to in his memory (eg Macmillan nurses or a local one that helped him etc)?

Nice one Hermit, it's a nice campsite. I took the missus there a few years ago. Bit nippy when they fire up the ferry engines early in the morning. 😬 Cheers Robin
