Claire I think you are a pioneer spirit and love your ways, been following you for about a year or so and have to tell you I look forward to your vids. If I can I like to sleep cozy and warm because of that I slept untill 8:30 this morning. I can remember some Cold and miserable times camping and can still look back and smile. The time I remember now is a hunting trip myself and 2 other friends were hunting in the high country of Colorado and in the morning we woke up with frost inside our tent and sleeping bags brrrr. take care and Enjoy what GOD gives us.

I get nervous in a house even with other people at night. I don't even know why. To be alone in the middle on nowhere though with no good lighting would completely wreck me. It's a life-long problem I cannot seem to get over. I envy you doing these camps and being at one with nature, it must be amazing and fulfilling.

Hi Geoff! I'm always more nervous in towns.. I don't worry out in the woods though, as long as there's not other people around. The further from civilisation the better haha! Although in this case I'm local so not far from a town. Thanks for watching my lil vid, hope you're having a nice week :) Claire 🐻

@@WildBeare Thanks Claire for such a friendly and genuine comment. I wish I felt comfortable away from people and I've often tried to work out logically why I get so scared. I tell myself I'm being silly, but once it starts to get dark that fear consumes me and I can't fight it. It's frustrating as it's holding me back. I'm having a bad day and your nice comment has cheered me up, thank you so much. Looking forward to your next video. :)

To cook that meet and any other grilled in the field there are 2 options : 1. Bring some charcoal in the pack. 2. Light on fire light wood, and previously cut in quarters one peace of thick wood And put it over the flames. As soon as the flames goes down, the thick wood shall remain fire activated like charcoal and that shall cook slowly the meat providing flavor as the fat gets poured on the charcoal an the smoke goes up and flavours the meat. If you wanna make it faster, cut the meat in peaces and stab them in brochette needles. Cheers Martin from Argentina 🇦🇷 by the way...

I know you like to travel quite light, but a good iron skillet is well worth the weight when you want to have a great cook-out! Skillet on the bushbox, with a bush crafted tripod and some cordage holding the handle up - gives you a hot side and a cooler side. You can sear the meat on the hot bit, then move it to the cooler bit to cook it slower. Also, since you said you've not cooked duck before... I like to cook it like a steak, turns out awesome (but also, I like rare stakes).

Duck pancakes, eh? Wow! This is one of my favourites dishes . . . just lovely! It's a very close approximation to what I know as Peking duck. Funny how we have different names for things. Even as a boy with an Essex background, I'd never heard of duck pancakes. I'm sure they were scrumptuous just the same. Be well.

WildBeare I noticed you were blowing up your air bed. To conserve energy. You can swing that plastic bag around in the air. Catch the air & then put the bag over the nozzle of the air bed, then squeeze the plastic bag like bagpipes pushing the air from the plastic back into the air bed. It's very fast & effective. I saw Lonewolf 902 do it on his camping adventures. I thought to myself what a great simple idea. I never forget great ideas. I think I might go camping with you one day.. another great idea👍🙂.

Hi Terry, sorry you've been feeling a little down, hope you're feeling a bit better today 🤗 I do love this tent, it's so big and spacious and I love having two doors and two vestibules too. It's a bit heavy for me for my hiking trips and I prefer to use it with a small tarp in the rain, otherwise the water drips into the tent - slight design flaw but only an issue if it's raining of course, and with the door open. Hope you're having a nice week :) Claire 🐻

Looked like a nice cozy camp setup; for you, that was almost like "glamping"...btw, if you let the wood burn a while so the flames die down and you have more coals than flame, then you can cook poultry at the right temperature to get it cooked through without being too burnt on the outside. Just a tip from an old home cooking enthusiast. Glad you posted this today, I found it motivating. Think I'll head outside in a few....

Hi Claire, another great session. I am learning so much from you so can I offer a couple of tips- put the coals in first as they will heat through as you have the fire on top, as with a bbq. Second, use the foil tray to start to cook any meat, that way it collects the fat and then you can brown it off at the end on the grill without massive fat flames. I do this with burgers and pork, works really well. However the duck did look really good! Stay wild!
