Bro, nothing wrong with throwing in the towel. You hear stories of people that let stubborness cloud their ability to make sound judgement calls. Frankly I would have done the same thing you did. Great video!

Hello guy! It was the right decision that you didn't stay the night. Spending the night in such snowy weather without a fire is deadly! Be wise and take care of yourself!

I too lost a good, expensive tarp camping this year, and was very annoyed with myself. Had to make an alternate high route over some cliffs when the trail was blocked by water and there was no other way round. Slid down the rocks on my arse, and my tarp that was strapped to my bag came off. Got to the ground unscathed, looked up, and saw my tarp aways up, stuck. Since I'd just had a near miss, didn't think it was worth the risk climbing up that high again to try and get it. RIP tarp - gone, but not forgotten

If you want to keep warm, I will tell you how. Put blanket down, put plastic liner over blanket, then put a sheet or thin blanket over liner. Lay down with t shirt and shorts only. Your body heat will bounce back to you. U will be hot real quick. TRY IT! I did this when camping . Good luck from USA.

the snow is an insolator for the ground, which means it holds the heat in the ground, so always carry a shovel with you and dig the snow out from ur sleeping place, also u can use the snow to build like a wall so it keeps u off the wind, boil water and put it in bottles, make sure the bottle is not leaking and put it in ur sleeping bag, it will keep you warm inside, use dead wood for building and fire, always have more wood so u keep restocking the fire thru the night. good luck with ur adventures.

You should have let more oxygen get to the fire, then dry the sticks slowly. A fire under those conditions takes attention and patience.
