Thank you for sharing your adventure with your precious adorable dog in such a beautifully professional video. You proved that a woman and her dog can safely travel across the country. I was afraid to even consider doing that. But now it does seem possible. You did a wonderful job documenting your trip.

I also drove from Tampa, stayed at the same hotel in Waco with my Doodle and had my first In-N-Out Burger in 2020. Next month August/22 my Dood and I are driving up into IN, Il, WI and then the UP of MI, MI and home to Tampa. Your video got me excited to head out and leave the heat behind for a bit! Cheers!

Great video! About to make the same trek from NorCal to Tampa in a out a week via I-10. Quick question - I am traveling with my Rotty and wondered if you pre-booked hotels or did you check in when you got to your stops? Trying to figure out whats best.. I am planning Sacramento to Phoenix to El Paso. Long trek to Houston then to Tallahassee then down to Tampa. May have to stop in NOLA and grab some beignets.
@travelpockets Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Super excited for your trip too :) Yes, I pre-booked all the hotels before I hit the road. I only booked hotels that had a free cancellation policy (usually up to 1-2 days before). Have a safe trip!

@travelpockets2 жыл бұрын
That's so awesome that you're thinking of doing a solo road trip too! I drive my own car on all of the road trips. The main reason being that I have my dog with me and I know she'll get fur everywhere in the car because she sheds a lot😅 I also feel a lot more comfortable in my own car. I drive a 2018 Ford Escape and it's done a fantastic job on all of my road trips!

I am thinking of going cross country with my dog too, but everyone is scaring me about driving cross country by myself. Also, I worry changing lodging every night is too anxious for a dog? Any input you have would be great!
@travelpockets2 жыл бұрын
Driving cross-country solo really is not that bad. Once you get on the road, I think you will enjoy it. Make sure you get a full inspection on your car before you leave so that you know your car is in good shape for the road. Having AAA would be a good idea too for emergency situations. My dog loves to go from hotel to hotel because she's always excited to check out a new place. If your dog has not traveled much, try driving with him/her to different places locally first. I have some more tips in these posts too: www.thetravelpockets.com/new-blog/ultimate-guide-to-a-solo-cross-country-road-trip-with-your-dog www.thetravelpockets.com/new-blog/ultimate-packing-checklist-for-your-dogs-road-trip www.thetravelpockets.com/new-blog/tips-on-traveling-solo-with-your-dog-on-a-cross-country-road-trip
