You’re always welcome in Iraq. Hope you had a nice time. The country you’re in now is the birthplace of civilisation and the birthplace of Abraham . All the best

Hi Emma, I think the idea of splitting this dome shape into 2 pieces because it means the shrine (the dome) couldn't afford to keep the soul or spirit of the martyr (the shaheed) inside it (because it's great matter) so soul rose up to the sky by splitting this dome.

In my opinion there are three reasons why no people in this landmark: *This place have been always closed to the public! Probably not many of people know that it open now... *Iraqis like to hangout at night. *This place to some people bring back bad memories and remind them of the wars....etc

Hi Emma, I’m happy that you’re enjoying your time in Iraq. Just some clarifications, the site was built in 1980s for the Iraqi martyrs during Iraq Iran war. Now used for propaganda for people who came to power after 2003. The recent pictures of people that are claimed to be “killed by Saddam” large numbers of them were considered traitors because they stood against Iraq in the war with Iran. A lot of them took side with Iran and joined militias to attack iraq within. Also you noticed you didn’t find information cuz they can’t come up with a good story to cover their lies and hypocrisy and that’s why it’s not open to public and people just sneak inside and that’s it. Thank you for your time
@jenenajen59403 жыл бұрын
Bullshit .. What is a propaganda .. Do you want to say Saddam he is not killed all this people.. Do you want to say Saddam wasn't dictator.. Do you want to say Saddam he is not stupid.. Do you deny all these pointless wars ! This indicates that you are a sectarian, hateful, liar, who loves terrorism and ISIS.

When the martyrs monument was opened back in the 80s it was a stunning piece of art and there were many people who would go to visit and bring flowers and light candles after a while it became a place for elementary schools students to take a day trip through their schools to visit as an educational trip and now it fell into despairty and yes there used to be flames coming off the top of the iraqi flag, as for clothes of the killed people in islam the deceased however the way they died can not be buried with their clothes they must be washed according to Islamic rituals and covered with white clean linen before being buried, one more advice why dont you ask your hotel receptionist to help you writing down in Arabic where you want to go and may be even guide you and offer some info that way you don't have to struggle with translation

There is the (place of residence) of al-Khidr (Saint George in Christianity) on the Tigris River in the center of Baghdad. It has a water well. It was built in the time of Nebuchadnezzar. It was a temple to the god Enki in the time of Babylon. This temple was part of the Babylon wall. It became a place to visit al-Khidr, where women light candles and put candles in the Tigris River annually during the night, and the candles shine like stars in the Tigris River at night. The story said he went down in the river and disparate there and he will back at the end of the "the last age" that's why they send to his candles. this place is called in Arabic (Maqam Al-Khidr) and there are many places for al-Khid in various places in Iraq many of which belong to the Babylonian era.

clarification ... Dear Emma, the Martyr’s Monument was established by Saddam Hussein in memory of the victims of the Iran-Iraq war. The basement contained the belongings of the dead Iraqi soldiers at the time, but after the occupation of Iraq by America and England in 2003, the opposition seized power and placed pictures of their victims who were killed by the government Saddam Hussein and they tried to remove the belongings of the Iraqi army from the basement, but they were afraid of the wrath of the Iraqi people, who does not know why they wanted to remove the belongings of the victims of the Iraqi war with Iran. This is because they are agents of Iran and they were fighting alongside the Iranian army against the Iraqi army and they Today, they are rejected by the majority of the Iraqi people .
