What worries me most about solo traveling is safety but after hearing your examples I feel a little more at ease but I could see my self probably experiencing culture shock because of the places I want to travel to.

Yes, I was worried about safety too but then I realized I just had to make the same smart decisions that I would make right here in the U.S.! Make sure you check out my video on culture shock here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKilq5Z9bdKIe8U You can do it!!!!

This is fantastic! Thank you for sharing your tips and experiences solo traveling. I am most worried about being able to communicate and understanding the languages. I will be visiting France and Italy in June. I’ve been trying to learn as much as I can. It’s not sticking as much as I’d like it to given my age, lol. But I will rely on Google translate as well. How do you manage the different languages in the many countries you visit?

Hey Sylvia, I'm glad to help! I usually learn basic phrases right before traveling to the country. Just enough to get me by. I'm actually planning on being more intentional about learning Spanish since I'm traveling to a few Spanish speaking countries this year. Make sure you check out this video to help you travel to Paris when you don't speak much French: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHSmZmmGgbpjg5I Have a fabulous time in France :)

I am supposed to come to the states as a solo traveler from Egypt for studying there for 9 months and I am super nervous and anxious about everything feeling like would get a dozen of panic attacks and feel of loss, to the extent that I think about cancelling my grant :(

I know you are afraid but try your best to enjoy the experience. Make friends with other international students and get involved in events where you can meet people. I moved to Japan by myself a few years ago, and it was terrifying, but I had to feel the fear and do it anyway! Make the best of your opportunity

Excellent video, congratulations, one of the best. I adore how articulate and clear your speech is. It might sound silly but some friends of mine cuddle in bed a- tiny- teddy bear or other plush toy and assure it makes them go to sleep so much easier and reminds them of home.

I have a question about transit. How do you get from the airport to your hotel? And have you ever taken an Uber in Paris and was it safe?
@herlifestyletravel
@herlifestyletravel Жыл бұрын
You can take the train to the city center to get to your hotel. I took an Uber once and it was expensive! Stick to the train. It’s super easy to navigate. And yes it’s safe! Many people use the Metro. Just be aware of pickpockets.

Do you have a video on how you balance travel and work? I want to solo travel but I have an in-person job. Do you do only remote work or do you work for a while and then quit to travel for a while?
@herlifestyletravel
@herlifestyletravel 2 жыл бұрын
Great idea! I don't have any videos yet on that topic. Balancing life and travel is definitely something I will talk more about on my channel. For years I worked as a substitute teacher so I was able to work, travel, work, travel. But I advise anyone with a full time job to plan out their international trips a year in advance. Know when you are going to travel so you can start saving and asking your boss for time off. Your best bet is to plan way ahead of time.
