Solo Ferreting - 18 rabbits from a woodland with Paige & Suki

A bit of solo ferreting with Paige and Suki on a woodland banking that hasn't been touched since last season. Not going to lie it was very hard going by my self, I laid all 100 purse nets out I brought and it still wasn't enough, definitely needed more nets and more ferrets for this one. Was a good lal trip out though and a good day for the dogs none the less! Really starting to enjoy the solo work.

That looked a great place Megan, Suki is getting faster, pity you can't train them to lay and pick up nets, it is hard work doing solo but very enjoyable plus you don't have to tell others to be quiet, take care, Norfolk Ray

Do you ever have days when you get none lol, I’ve been ferreting some decent looking warrens with plenty of life and droppings everywhere and I mean everywhere and still seem to bolt anything other than the odd 1 :(

Plenty of days like that, have to travel far now for rabbits but 1 is just as good as 20

Question about your dogs. Are they not good with smaller dogs or other animals? Because of their use as hunting dogs?

No perfect with every type of animal and livestock (including pet rabbits). They have to be. If they weren't, we couldn't work them

It must be difficult getting the footage and catching the rabbits when you are doing this alone. But never the less a good number were caught. A return to the same place in a month or two will probably find more rabbits.

@a walk September to end of Feb, we don't hunt them when it's there breeding season. More of a moral thing

@@RabbitExpress The old saying used to be something about an R in the month. So the season is similar to pheasant season (October through January). Thanks for the answer.
