Idiot creek falls?! 😂 One has to wonder about the origin of the name. Spectacular falls, especially the second. I ❤ the sound too. Much more than music, although I love 🎶 too. It just doesn’t compare. Thanks for sharing.

@@Cobbmtngirl the history of the name is explained in the previous video I made in that same area! Pretty funny and interesting way to name a creek…🤷♂️

Nice video! Good catch on the wildfire, the Tillamook Burn was huge, but without it these falls and so much of the area would probably be private timber land. We went to the bottom of Idiot Creek falls in the spring and the greenery was incredible. Pretty falls but steep climb out. I'll look forward to seeing your next waterfall trip

There were three big fires, 1933, 39, and 45. Ellis Lucia put together a photo book. Tillamook Burn Country, on this that explains the history, too. It is amazing.

Two for one is a great combo. Both those falls are really nice, that second one looks like it takes some work to get to but is worth it.

@@scottalpine soooooooo worth it!!!! In like a 5 square mile area there are about 10-12 waterfalls here….😳 so far none have been let downs! 🤘

Big Idiot is my favorite falls in the area. You dropped into the top which is a relatively pleasant hike. If you follow the draw down from the west just north of the falls, it's the easiest way to the top of the falls. I was hoping you were hiking all the way to the bottom. That is a brutal hike and makes the hike out of the east drainage look like a walk in the park. I look forward to seeing what other of my local falls you go visit next.

@@shadowoxj8153 i probably could have easily made it down…though next time I may just rappel it. However I didn’t want to get caught in the Portland traffic so my turnaround time was pretty early! 🤷♂️ I hate the bridge traffic! That area is so lovely though and not crowded, during the week days…🤘

Yes week days are best for the TSF. Weekends can get busy.@@WaterfallWhispering I was last there in June and planned to rappel Big Idiot but then I decided I didn't really want to climb back up.

@ yes normal hiking is so easy compared to when carrying a small pack…and even worse when carrying canyon gear!!! Its brutal! Haha especially solo cuz you carry everything, no load sharing 🤷♂️ I can’t wait to go back!
