Look up the property taxes on the listings. Look up if there is an HOA or not. See if there is a monthly road maintenance charge. How close is town and so on. I bought a 2.5 acre property in Snowflake 3 years ago. It had an old mobile home on it. I'm almost done rebuilding the mobile home. I will start working part time once the mobile is done. I will let friends park their rv's and travel travels on it.

About a year ago I sold our home in the Phoenix area and purchased a home on acreage outside of Snowflake. The sale of my old home easily paid for our new home. It's quiet, the weather is decent, the people are all friendly, and we've got friggen seasons (something that Phoenix sadly lacks)! We looked at homes around Prescott Valley but the costs there have exploded in recent years thanks to the influx of Commiefornians. Snowflake is most definitely a small town with a population of 7,000 people. It's situated about 20 minutes from Show Low and 30 minutes from Holbrook. Flagstaff, Payson, and Gallup NM are about 2 hours away. Phoenix is closer to 3 1/2 hours away. 30 years ago I lived just outside of Yuma in the Foothills and worked at the Yuma Proving Ground. Best part of living in Yuma back then was the ability to pop across the border for lunch, and on those rare occasions when I needed cost effective items from the Mexican pharmacies. There is a golf course in the Foothills called Mesa Del Sol. The running joke back then about playing that course was to NEVER follow your golf ball out of bounds. Just take a drop and play through. The area had more than it's share of rattlesnakes and other critters.

All home prices in Kingman have doubled in the last couple years. There are so many people leaving CA and coming to Kingman. Talk about monthy income figures. Rents, electricity?

I'll stick with the Apache Junction area, east Mesa. The superstition mtns and salt river lakes are easily accessible. Heat, yes. Night life, yes!

Have you heard of Brookfield Residential Properties ULC---2800 acre a master plan development right by Apache Junction. It will have 5,000 homes. Your town of 38K in 10 years will balloon to over 70K+ Phase one, Blossom Rock has started with 5 developers. There will be at least 5 phases to this development. Its on the East side of Ironwood Dr, Ray road, south of hwy 60, right across from Radiance of Superstition Vista. Along with Dr-Horton, some say there will be 11,000 homes

@@threeftr3349,only one problem, WATER! The desert floor has dropped significantly over the years because of irrigation from deep wells. Now the Colorado River irrigation system is being affected by the lack of water. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few years.

Gangs, homelessness, cost of living 3rd highest location in the nation to live(although Apache Junction is just outside Maricopa county saves much $ in gas tax)115 in the summer or more, crime is going to only get worse in the valley, and water shortages will increase.
