Finally you hiked Mt Hakusan! The one mountain I have actually climbed. I climbed it about 1.5 times. First time was a shit show, with a late start, rain, me turning around halfway up because I was sick, and then all of us getting stuck in the bus waiting for the last hikers who got stuck up on the mountain. The second time I hiked up with a lady from my international club (I lived in Tsubata near Kanazawa). We made it to the hut, but then it started raining. We were only planning to do a day trip, so we didn't go to the summit (because rain). The hike is really hard! Basically like stairs all the way to the top. I had bad shoes on the second time and they rubbed my achilles raw by the time we got down to the bottom. I really recommend sleeping overnight rather than a day trip. But I still have a picture of myself looking utterly exhausted in front of that field at the top with the path. It was hard, but so beautiful!

Aaaaah! I'm SO HAPPY to watch this video! Brings back so many amazing memories! And I just realized that your Jeep is the same model of the Overland Yukon Jeep that we recently lived out of in Canada's north! I definitely found Hakusan to be the most difficult (of Japan's Three Holy Mountains) in terms of physical exertion, for all the stairs. So glad you got to see the sunrise, too! We stayed overnight at the Murodo, but it was too foggy to fully experience the sun - we had to do our "BANZAI" with the sun poking through the shreds of cloud. Beautiful shots - thank you for capturing Hakusan's incredible scenery and sharing it with your audience!

Congrats on summiting Mt Hakusan. Wow - the amount of work you put in to reposition the camera at different points. 👏 Since you're planning to do more hiking, probably should consider trekking poles and having micro spikes for extended snow patches just for safety. For sleeping, another option is to have just a sleeping bag liner. Liked your recap on this hike.

Beautiful & relaxing as always Hannah! Thank you for taking us to great place like this. Knowing that you have to setup your camera, do a walking montage, go back to your camera to pick it up, makes me think how hard this walk for you compare to other hikers 👍👍👍 But that sunrise though... Amazing!

A tip on the backpack. Be sure to use the waist belt. If you tighten it, the waist belt will help relieve some of the strain on your back by letting you carry more of the pack's weight on your hips. Also connecting the sternum strap will also help.

Whoo Hoo! You’re back on the road hiking and providing your viewers with your beautiful drone footage once again! Had you considered that you were struggling during this hike because of the elevation? The air does get thinner, and it takes time for your body to acclimate to different conditions. Another thing to consider is your body might not be in hiking condition, since it’s been awhile since your last hike, and right out the gate you tax you body with such a demanding hike along with new equipment and additional heavy gear. Just something to consider. I’m impressed with the facilities that have been constructed in these remote and extreme location, but it also a nice feature to have to take a break at after a strenuous hike. The trail with wooden planks was something I had not seen on the ground, just used as apart of a bridge crossing. At first I wasn’t sure if it was snow, salt or a glacier. Oh, you’re in a very respectful country with people who don’t seem to take advantage of others. I recently went in to a restaurant ordered take out and with in that time some went into my vehicle and went through everything. They took two pairs of new sun glasses. Whaa! I forgot to lick my vehicle. It was around 3 or 4 in the morning and I didn’t see anyone around, but that doesn’t mean, that they weren’t lurking in the shadows out sight is what I realized too late. Congrats on your maiden trek with your new vehicle.
