The beauty of the Nevada desert is you will walk where it's very possible that no one has walked before. I would have to slow down and check out the rocks etc. Thanks for the hike video. Very nicely done.

Interesting video but I'm sure he had a hiking buddy with him cuz he was filmed from the back walking but it's still a dangerous trip that place in Nevada is really bad place to be in if your cell phone goes out or you can't make it back to your car or for some reason you didn't bring enough water or food you will finish besides there was rattlesnakes around you could go near one that doesn't rattle and just snaps at you then you're really in trouble but I say to each his own I enjoy watching this type of video I'm still on the safe side 👍⭐🇺🇸💯🍀🇨🇮💯🍀

I’ve been to a place like that in Nevada and found petrified wood especially in volcanic ash. That looks like an ancient mudflow from a volcano and I would explore the other white looking areas. Nevada does have some interesting places to explore that’s for sure.

yup, you got a new subscriber, i just love the desolation, i would like to explore old washes at the bottom of some of the mountains(not that area) for gold it has to wash down from some where, placer gold, ya never know, you go places probably never visited or seen by another person, except maybe someone flying over that area. looking forward to tour next expedition.

@Base Camp Chris Do you think an osprey rook 65 is a good starter pack, or just a good pack in general
@basecampchris4 жыл бұрын
I just looked at it ( online ) to me it looks like a good pack in general/ decent capacity/ great shoulder harness- belt system does come with a rain cover...i like an outside cargo pocket on the pack center to stuff light jackets and maps- this does not have that...although does have cord loop attachment points for external gear.

Wondering what type of hiking pants do you tend to wear, especially in the desert? I've been using a popular model but I find they aren't ideal for the desert.
@basecampchris4 жыл бұрын
I picked up these in May...Mens Hiking Pants Convertible Quick Dry Lightweight Zip Off Outdoor Fishing Travel Safari Pants /Amazon / Jesse Kidden Store $35.00...work well for me in the desert. Only thing I would change is the sewn on button...I prefer a snap or a little slide / click!
