Seoul is a megacity with many popular tourist attractions and numerous cool neighbourhoods to explore. But, the east side of the city doesn't really get any attention. Yes there's the DDP and Naksan park, but past there tourists don't really go and visit (unless you're a hipster looking for a film camera).
Whilst getting lost in Asia's biggest flea market I met Kang Dong So, a lovely ajoshi who takes me to the roof of his factory where he imparts his historical wisdom on me and calls me a handsome boy.

I want to share an idea. So I think it helped, if you put one shorter anouncment video( up to 1 min) in Pirate Dan channel about your new chanel. for example, some new people watches 1 of your old videos, likes your content, and then sees the last video tittle "Goodbye KZbin", they probably thinks you quit, and dont know about your new chanel. and most of the new people will not watch the 26 min long video. people are too lazy, so I think 1 min long anouncment video can help a bit. but this is just from my experience, how I would interact with some new chanel, which I just found. Good luck

I went to dongmyo market when I visited Korea 2 years ago and I really enjoyed sitting on a cardboard box and drink the cheap instant coffee with a donut❤

Great video Dan! That Ahjussi was so friendly! I haven't been to many markets other then the ones in my local town. There was a food market in Filey before lockdown that was up on the cliff tops I really enjoyed. Some old school spitfires did a flyby and because we were up on the cliffs they seemed really close! That was probably one of my favz but not as glamorous and big as this flea market. 😊

Dongmyo Station is a popular tourist destination. It is also a place where ordinary people who like the vintage atmosphere of the old days, overseas tourists who come out of curiosity, and popular Korean celebrities visit a lot. Koreans are also surprised because the price is so low.

I really wish I tried Soju. A lot of the military men in Itawon would pass out and wake up in random places after drinking it...hahaha. Even some Korean men would fall on train tracks. That Soju scared the crap out of me so I never tried it!

We had many many good days/nights drinking Soju. When i was living in a guesthouse, one of the American military guys got so drunk on soju, did a naughty and got kicked out the country....

interesting to know that it was a large highway :O the kakaotalk notification made me look at my phone! really sad to see that this beautiful lady after running the shop for 30 years will see it get lost to high-rises. i would go crazy in that market so many relics :O very nice temple :O I love it that even though you are talking Korean they go through the trouble in talking English to you. Fun fact on Yakult yogurt Mexico really love it so they actually make there own brand or sell the Korean one since we love them. and every since the World Cup Mexico and Korea exchange alot of food and culture now too so if a Mexican goes they are expected to drink with everyone xD lovely Market excited to see if you meet Kang dong si shi in a future video to see how he is holding up!

The watch you found is very common in the Finnish military we use those because they are cheap and dont break easily. Ive seen one that had been dropped on a forest road and driven over by trucks and it was still intact somehow

Yes the market is right outside the station 동묘앞 (Just “Dongmyo” in English I think) which is on line 6 and line 1
