one thing you may want to test as well is how good def pen stat is after a shadow step/ any defense lowering debuff. wondering if there will be diminish in return from def pen when stack with those debuff

@payneblade it looks like rather than a direct increase it reduces a pre-existing negative modifyer. So rather than being 1.0 (base dmg) x 1.07 (def pen), its more like 1.0 / 0.93. this means at low numbers they'd be similar but with higher numbers it would grow much faster (e.g. 50% def. Pen would be 1.0 / 0.5)

Hey Payne can u test def pen or the lion set with shadow step? I have a theory and I think def pen actually has exponential returns reason being shadow step 60%def reduction actually increases damage by over 2X while a 15-20%def reduction only increases damage by around 20% as well. I wonder how much damage increase will shadow step+lion set +high def reduction be

We have to know what the bear's defense is if there is possible way since defense ignore should bypass any damage reduction brought by defense of enemy. Higher the defense the lower the damage taken. If you got a damage multiplier that reduces 50% defense then it is a 200% increase in damage there by a 50% defense penetration should ignore 50% of the defense of the enemy thus passively applying the 50% defense reduc.

To my understanding the way in which defense penetration works is that you have a % chance to ignore all the defense of the enemy, you would need to test that way more to be able to get an actual result. When you read Def pen it says: Percent of attacks that ignore the target's Defense. The armed set works in a different way since the 4 piece bonus says that it ignores 15% of defense instead of saying that it add 15% to your defense penetration percentage.

My understanding of it is an enemy has 100% Def and Def penetration "penetrated aka ignores" the % in your stat. That's how it's always worked in all my testing. I think the armor works the same tbh
