Solo Leveling is Finally HERE

Solo Leveling is just a normal world, but the difference is that in this world sometimes anywhere a portal opens up that is like a dungeon, inside which there are monsters that are unaffected by normal weapons. To kill them we have some hunters who are humans but possess some magical abilities. Among all hunter our main protagonist is the weakest.

Is the official title national? I always saw them references as Nation-level. Small difference ik but I just haven’t seen that before.

@@GunbladeKnight yeah fair, I read the extra chapters last year! They had like a dozen chapters about jinwoo after returning and starting a family with Chad. It was pretty good.

Unpopular opinion, LITRPGs are boring because the characters always powerscale until cool abilities become useless overnight and cool characters vanish because they could survvie the GALAXY destroying punch but not the GALAXY CLUSTER destroying punch or some other such bullshit. Solo leveling is literally just that, distilled, because only the ONE GUY ever gets stronger. Nobody else is allowed to because reasons.

I can agree to that, I think a party that grows together is infinitely more interesting than a solo badass that defeats everyone. That being said I did like solo leveling particularly because the art is really cool and I liked that there was an actual progression of power unlike 98% of these where the MC is instantly granted near omnipotence. While the people around him don’t get more powerful and don’t see enough development there were some characters that I really liked. I’ve heard the anime will follow a different story to the Manhwa so I am hoping that they can improve upon the weaker points of the series while keeping the the stronger points intact.

@@Tom_Cruise_Missile Honestly I’d disagree with the silver platter argument. He fought for everything he got. He was the weakest and constantly close to death which is why the shadow monarch decided to let him inherit his power. His analysis and fortitude earned him the right to level up which he spent a non-significant amount of time doing. The first few dozen chapters are the best parts of solo leveling however once he reaches S class level that’s where the series becomes a lot less compelling. Now that he’s OP he loses most of his personality, ceases struggling in like 95% of his battles and BECOMES the standard cookie cutter MC. I could handle him being OP but challenge him in other ways like actually exploring his relationship with Chae and his dynamic with other high ranking adventurers. We start with S classes being a threat to the leveling MC but he very quickly surpasses them. It’s even worse with the nation level hunters because their introduction was sullied by either getting killed in their first scene, getting killed OFF SCREEN without ever being seen or in Andres case, losing in the first fight we ever see him take part in. The nation level hunters got done so dirty and is honestly the best evidence I have for the decline of the series after MC becomes OP. Here is the changes I would make to improve upon solo leveling: - Slow down Jin Woo’s ‘late-game’ progression. E to A rank was fine but there was virtually no time between low S tier and infinite power. - Increase screen time and arcs for side characters like Chae, Choi (fire guild leader), and the entire nation level roster (except Andre I think they gave him enough time aside from losing his first fight) - instead of removing Jinwoo’s personality when he becomes strong, change it to reflect his deep are for those around him and his willingness to do anything for them. Have him interact with these people in meaningful ways that aren’t just saving them. With these 3 main points addressed I think it would be significantly better no?
