I want to take my girlfriend to go see it but she’s not really an anime fan. Do you think the recap is good enough for someone who has never seen SL?

Having watched it, I think there is enough nuanced missed that your girlfriend may find it off putting. It was a good recap, it is just difficult to compress 6 hours of characters and development.
