Rebecca lives full time in this custom tiny home with her son. She custom designed this tiny home to suit her and her son's needs and she did a wonderful job!
Starting in the kitchen, she included mirror backdrops that really open up the space. The U shaped kitchen allows plenty of room for cooking with a ton of design and storage hacks.
Her living space is one of the most spacious living areas I have ever seen in a tiny home. She purposely designed the living area so the open space would not be overpowering while feeling inviting.
After a relationship ended, Rebecca found herself living tiny by happenstance while staying with family. During that time, the idea of living tiny solidified in her mind and she knew she had to make it happen.
While I loved her tiny home, my favorite part of the video is the tenacity Rebecca showed in making this lifestyle work for her. She did not give up on her tiny living dreams and made it happen!

This is quite a lovely home! The office was one of the best I’ve seen in this types of homes. I wouldn’t mind my home being just like this one but with a few tweaks. The lady and her son really have an incredible space.

I live in a three bedroom low-set brick and steel roof and I don’t even use half the house and all you do is just fill it up with crap. Keep up the good work. Nothing wrong with a good deck. Aussies love them too. It's lighter downunder all year so they make more sense there compared to the likes of Europe where it becomes super dark and miserable for half the year

I did the math (converting NZD etc) and this cost as much as my parents normal sized house with garden in a very nice area, which they bought in the early 2000s (in Germany). Judging by the new houses being built in my parents small town, the same property plus house would now cost way over half a million euros (the average there is around 700.000 - 800.000). Property cost is what's most expensive here. The world is going downhill fast. I could never afford a tiny house and this tiny house is definitely a very luxurious version of a tiny house. Nothing against the lady and the (great!) design. But videos like this are making me sad when I start putting things into perspective.

The price took my breath away. That is highway robbery for no more than that little lady got. People can't afford that that's very expensive to live in a box. I guess we're going to have to do like thousands of homeless people live in a cardboard box... homeless. The average person cannot afford that for nearly nothing... it should be against the law to charge so much money!!!! Just unbelievable it blows your mind. 🤯

Doesn't look like there's a washer/dryer in this particular tiny. Many folks end up using laundromats just to save on water, power, space etc. 🙂

It really is expensive to build these little homes, we are just completing an ADU here in Northern California (San Francisco/Bay Area), 400 sq ft and over 250,000$ later… wish we had gone just a little bigger, but honestly I really couldn’t afford to spent a penny more? It’s a small one bedroom for my daughter, all one level, nice but not anything really extra… from what the builder tells me, we got a good deal because nobody else is getting 400 sq ft for that price… I know sound crazy, but it is what it is! My daughter is a teacher and she is just finding it so hard to buy a place here in the Bay Area and of course rents are out of range also? I dont know what folks are supposed to do? For the moment our daughter can have affordable rent and save a bit more money and maybe, just maybe one day she’ll be able to buy a place?

That is not a “tiny house”. We need some kind of guidelines to define a tiny home. $250k is ridiculous & defeats the purpose of a tiny house. No one just wants to live in a tiny house(which this one is not)~it’s an alternative shelter for a tiny budget.

Some of us very much want to live in a tiny house. Most of the people featured on these types of channels made their choice deliberately. Also keep in mind that they are speaking of $250k in NZ dollars, which is very different from American or Canadian dollars.

Rising housing and building costs mean that even our beloved tiny homes are getting more expensive. $250,000 NZD is about $150,000 USD which is certainly no small number, but finding a traditional home you love in a beautiful place for that price is quite tricky these days!
