303) Finally motocamping with the 2010 Honda Goldwing!! On a recent trip to Florida, I stopped at Magnolia Springs State Forest in Georgia for one night of camping. Join me as I take you with me from arriving at the camp spot to leaving the following morning. Together, we set up camp, get a fire going, share some personal information, and in the morning, pack up and hit the road!!

I love camping when there's nobody else nearby. Back home in east TN I used to go up into the mountains and get off the main trails and wilderness camp. It is free, and as long as you are mindful of the bears, etc, it is awesome. I have never understood people that go camping in the woods, bring a TV, stereo and play them so loud most of the night, that you can't even hear the Whippoorwills and owls, etc. I camp to see the stars, and hear the sounds of nature at night. If I want to listen to Molly Hatchet blasting, I will get on my bike and fly through the twisties. Hahaha.

PATRICK !!! - Good video - and great camp spot. I understand plumbing issues LOL - One of the reasons I quit my Survey job. We are expected to be on whatever "site" we are on - with nowhere to go to the bathroom. Gotta pack up all your "stuff" and try to find a store or whatever. Sometimes however, You best be in "position" in about 5 seconds !!!!! I get it !!!!

Ahh peace and tranquility. We love camping, not crazy over established campsites, but it beats hotels. We just left a dispersed camp this morning in Washington state “Nason Creek dispersed campground” about 20 mi north of Leavenworth. Loved it!

I have camped when traveling for over 50 years. I was very happy with the "Pop up" type of tent. I can have my "camp" totally set up for the night in about 15 minutes...that involves the tent, the air mattress (queen size) bed made with sheets, pillows and comforters. I use large metal nails to keep the tent in place. Plugging into an electric outlet makes it complete...nice to lay in bed and read about where I am headed, check the maps. I love camping. And I like the cost savings.

Hi Miss Kerrie! I still love camping, and am still learning as I go! The pop up tent is so very cool, quick and easy! On the bike, I have to watch what I bring, but the air mattress is a must have!! Very cool Patrick. I want to try my hand at moto camping sometime. Wife and I used to tent camp all the time when we were younger, then we got us a pop up a few years ago. An of course I can't take that with me when I'm on the bike, but something about camping just seems so peaceful and relaxing. I just need to figure out what necessities I need to have without overpacking too much, only got so much to take stuff on two wheels. 🙂

I think that’s part of the process with Moto camping, being minimalistic, yet having enough. It’s a fine balance, and of course your age, and your bike will have ax lot to do with it😂. I need a bit more comfort than I did years ago, and I fortunately have a big bike! Now when I camp off the VStrom, It’s a different story, Especially if I go off road! Gotta keep it light!!!

Aha, I heard you say "falling into the 'camper' ' before you said "tent"... I believe there needs to be a camper in your future Patrick. The Wing can easily tow a camper, and you probably wouldn't know you're towing anything 😁😊🤗

It was a great site, far away from anyone, yet facilities available😂😂 I like the tent, it’s still a bit too cumbersome to carry if I’m doing off pavement stuff, but great for on the Wing! Hoping to do camping a little more. I’ve thought about bringing a small mat for outside the tent. Sand is a pain. Where tweat does a training in Florida, Polk county is building a campground next to it that’ll make it easier for me.

That will be perfect! I love getting out by myself every now and again, just peaceful…. The mat is a great idea, especially where you are with the sand. I need to resize some of my camping gear, get lightweight if I’m going to be off pavement with the Vstrom…..
