You should get a First Manufacturing Company jacket. They have classic and other style jackets, as well as vests and chaps. You should get some chaps for protection, too. They also help keep you a little warmer. And even though they can be hot in the summer, it's better to have them on.

Such a large country we live in. People have no idea how far you are traveling. 2300 km from Hamilton to Manitoba. Best thing I ever did I have traveled this way out to bc. 3 times. Will have to do it o a motorcycle soon thank you.

Hey Laura! You hard worker you deserve a motorcycle trip. Never been to big bend park but here it gets really hot there at times. Thanks for the video it was most enjoyable your Dad seems like a very wonderful person perhaps you can talk him into going with you it looks like that well stocked garage is his and im thinking that electra glide is for him. Its always good to see Lucy be safe and keep us up to date on your trip planning and prep!

Thank you for another video Laura. That's a well kitted out workshop you have there. How long you owned the sportster? Any plans to replace it and if so what would you get? Biking is a great method of transport for us introverts.

Hey Trevor! I’ve had the Sportster for 11 years now. I had been working at a cafe and saved every penny to buy it. It cost me $6000 at the time! I recall the first quote I got for insurance was $9000 😵. Thankfully I was able to shave the cost of insurance down, but let’s just say I was bike-broke for a few years 😅. I’m bonded to the sporty, but I’ve caught myself dreaming of both the HD Nightster or a BMW dual sport. I like Harley’s Pan Am, but there’s something about the front end that irks me a bit! I think I’ll stick with the Sportster for now!

@@lauradanielle1991 Hello Laura, so was that brand new when you bought the HD? That is a crazy amount of money for insurance. When you have worked hard for something you do get attached to things.. well I do. I bought a Honda 500 twenty years ago, its been a great bike and is still going well so will never part with it although I do sometimes wish id bought a big Moto Guzzi or HD bagger at the time instead but I never say that in front of the Honda 😂 How did you dent the tank by the way? Im looking for another bike for my longer rides/touring as I do worry a 20 year old bike may start to become unreliable but not sure what I want to go for. Hope your trip is going well. Take care.

There’s a place close by that takes old oil. I’ve heard of people who use it as bar oil for their saws. Never tried it… don’t think I will 😅
