Just go get your ass handed to you and focus on one thing at a time doing so. Be it defense, the proper punish or whatever. Losing's stressful but inevitable so might as well get used to it

Don't be scared mate, the only way to get better at something is to keep at it. If you're concerned about getting booted from higher floors, you can hang out in the park part of the lobby and just have some casual matches. It's what I do when I'm playing as characters I'm not as familiar with.
