Sometimes, when I have anxiety problems, I come to watch your videos and I relax a lot. It would be a dream to be in those places without any other worries than lighting the fire and cooking. I wish you a long and healthy life, keep doing this. We also enjoy it through the screen...

Love watching the trailer of your truck bouncing over them stones. Reminds me when I had my 1990 Honda Civic Wagon lifted only one inch from factory. I guarantee "The Flying Tiger" saw more dirt than 95% of the pavement princess SUV's and trucks on the road in the 90's into 2000, lol!

Maybe you should have just laid another pie crust on top and sealed them together? ha ha My mom used a fork to mash the two half's together, to seal them. Also, remember when Hostess (and even McDonalds) used to make those fried pies? They used thick crusts and small amounts of fruit to hold them together. Your peach pie with whipped cream was my favorite! The gas fire seems to be a much safer heat source when using the fryer. An accidental spill, when the flame is turned off, would not ignite. Love the basket draining holder idea.

Thank you. I'm glad you appreciate my thoughts. On a solo backpacking trip some 5 years or so ago I got mixed up on the trail more than once causing me to hike about 20 miles more than necessary. I ended up with some pretty bad blisters and was exhausted. It took me a day longer to reach my destination but I still managed to enjoy myself after having articulated my philosophy with the words repeating in my head "take the easy" sometimes it's more about consistent progress than being fast. Lol sometimes all we can muster is one foot in front of the other.

That looks like the BM's near FL? Or is it further north near the HU's? The size of those Brookies make me think the BM's.

Hey man, I’ve been getting more and more interested in gen 1 tundras. I was wondering what your tire and suspension setup is on your truck?
@fireboxstove
@fireboxstove 3 ай бұрын
The suspension is mostly stock. Spacers in front add a leaf in the back. Tires are 85 ratio with 16 in rims so I have a lot of sidewall suspension. 4d4 diesel engine and air lockers front and rear. It's a heck of a mountain truck!

Steve, it seems like the trout would have been better served on a skillet instead of the cast iron. I expect this is a concept demonstration, but what do you feel is better served by the cast iron as opposed to a skillet? I also LOVE my box pot and was disappointed not to see it in action!

I've developed a lot of specialized products over the years all of which fit different styles and modes of camping. Many being capable of performing similar tasks as others oftentimes with similar efficiency. Sure, I could find each product and only use that product that most efficiently serves my needs but sometimes it's easier to use what's at hand. I can't feature them all in every video. Just because I didn't use a particular product in one of my videos does not mean that I think less of that product than I did previously. I know that can seem confusing when you're excited about the product that you recently purchased. But please know that my feelings have not changed. The box pot is an awesome minimalist versatile cooking concept but I'm not going to use it in every one of my videos especially when it I'm not trying to keep things at a minimum.

@1:07:30 This happened with my brother's dog. Except he full on swallowed a barbless treble hook - even after surgery, they couldn't get it out so he's going to have to live with it for now. You always have to be watchful with pets around. 😱
