Be harder on your scouts than you think you need to be. My scoutmaster was a nice guy, but he put up with no bullshit and that let us learn all sorts of useful things. Also, when it's possible, push to let the rest of the troop participate in the eagle scout trips, I know not all troops do that, but having the opportunity to earn a spot with the big kids and do more serious stuff is a nice carrot to dangle, and the kids will surprise you and rise to the challenge more often than not.

@@jttech44 Unfortunately, when you push today's scouts, they will just retreat into their devices and never show up again! A strange generation is coming of age. I put a 16yo in as a rower for the mile swim, I was more worried about the rower, than the swimmer. We have a generation that; Cant ride bikes, pump a swing, tie their shoes or row a boat! And Im sure many other basic life skills.

With all due respect, don’t pay attention to the bs and people having something to say about how and what you do. I always look forward to your builds when they come out, really makes my week. There are several reasons your builds are outstanding so I thought I would list them. 1. The precision and clean lines sets you far above most others. Thankyou for showing that handmade can be beautiful in addition to functional. 2. You always show a range of ideas and individual components that can be combined in multiple ways for any build someone wishes to create. 3. You keep it simple but highly effective with wonderful insight into why you use each part and how they are done.

You are one of 5 tubes I watch above all. It just depends who posts when and when I can get a chance to watch. Your channel and Survival Russia are my survival channels. The rest round out my other interests of welding, machining and welding. Heavy equipment is another choice as I worked for Caterpillar for some time. 13 years in the Air Force gives me a lasting interest in those flying machines. Then there is a multitude of others that are at my whim. My only wish is I was younger and less crippled up. I hear you with the depression. Between health issues and legal problems channels like yours are pretty much the only escape from this slow hell I'm living right now. So with that I thank you for your dedication to this channel. Patiently waiting for your next video. Terry from South Carolina

Dude I just watch this video and I hope you'll forgive me getting on my soapbox but I am pissed off. You put all your effort and time in the making these kick ass videos and people going to complain? I guess it goes what they always say... those who can, do, those who can't, critique. Here you are teaching us skills that very few people know, for free, and the only thing you ask is that we follow your page and subscribe? I think you do an absolutely incredible job! I have watched survival videos that I've either purchased or on TV shows for almost 10 years. No one has ever shown how to tie knots. No one has ever taken that kind of time. I think you are awesome and I'm extremely grateful for your service to this country. Please keep doing what you do and let those other ones Fall Away. I am incredibly grateful for this channel

Mine was "Pay attention to detail" When my Drill Sgt told me that, I took it a a slight. Pissed me off, because I busted my but for him. Then I realized how relevant the statement was in every day life. My job, relied critically on the details, from "life and death" decision making to just setting up your uniform for the day. Here we look at what knots to use, where to provide extra support. Corporal adds tools to our toolbox to give us options for when we are out and about.

it almost seems like someone at YT has a personal vendetta against you. I don't know what they are thinking. Your videos are well produced, informative and very innovative.

@@macarius8802 There is plenty of evidence that YT is highly political. This genre is likely viewed as potentially "right wing" which is assailed by the big techs. If that is their opinion, then one is left with trying to understand their antipathetical algorithm and somehow beat it. I don't see politics in CorporalAF's videos but I don't know anything about how YT algorithms work either.

Corporal Kelly . Sorry that I’m just getting to watch this week’s video (I’ve been sick) but just letting you know that the suggested playlist you had/ where 7 out of the top ten . I really like this one in particular . I have lost 68 lbs in the last 18 months because I’m out there trying to do some if not all of your builds . They take me longer and I have to modify they to my physical abilities as I’m handicap . But you make them so that I can take your concept and work from there . Thank you very much for your service to this amazing country and for making these videos weekly.

One day Builds are actually SMART. You are showing us how to set up a Satellite or Base Camp (more or less). A place we can stay for a while; a place that can be built with Minimal Materials in One Day. Simple Common Sense!

Hey corporal, great video. I like that you took the time to squeeze in a brief how to lesson within the video. “How to tie an Arbor Knot”. Another take away is your example of how you incorporate mule tape in your ladder build. I like this build because I have always carried contractor bags in my kit and for the most part used them for a ground cover when sleeping under the stars and cut the sealed ends off, tape two together and make a tube tent. I will try this build because it keeps you off the cold ground using gear I always carry. Thanks, and please keep making these great videos.

You do a great job. I know it's hard to sleep on that ground. I have a bad back and I still do it sometimes. But you teach skills that are important and could come in handy (if) shtf if you know what I mean. Thanks for all you do. I enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the good work brother

Corporal: You should market kits of your shelters. Bundles of saplings cut to length, stakes, the rope you use to create all the lashings and knots, tarps, saws (if needed). Instructions, pictures. Sort of like the Sears and Roebuck Houses you could order 90 years ago and have delivered to your home via a train or truck. A great learning experience for children and adults young and old. Place an order and have it delivered. It would be much more productive to be learning the skills you are teaching rather than wasting time on video games and wandering the mall. Semper Build

We're going back and watching all of your older videos and we stumbled upon this, which is (BY FAR) my favorite! Amazing build. I can't wait until my son (8months) gets older so we can go do this sort of thing together as a family! You did that! I tell you all the time, but I'll say it again, thank you so much for introducing bush crafting in a way that is both educational and easy to understand. My soon to be husband (getting married this weekend) and I can't wait to get back out there. It's been too long. Thanks again!
