@@BoardGameDave Maybe you could have played better, but I don't know what a good strategy is in this game as I don't own it. And the AI took so many cards, which you just decided to go for. Thanks! I got that from Gamer Mats at PAX Unplugged! It's not for Splendor specifically, but I use it for a whole bunch of card games! It makes picking up the cards so much easier! 😊

@@BoardGameDave this is pretty much on every luck-based mechanic. Just recently, while I was playing Kanban EV with some of my associates I hear screaming and laughter from the other side of our office (this is during lunchbreak btw, lol) and realized they were playing The Quacks of Quedlinburg. Someone is telling that "you'll get a 2 chip white" after recently placing a 3 chip white in her pot, and got jinxed, then agony of ensues 🤣. They where already on round 8, lmao, who could have expected a 3 and 2 chip white as an opening of all the ingredients! 😂💀.

@@popgas3821 Oh my gosh, that's hilarious! Quacks can be absolutely brutal if you get unlucky like that! What are the odds to pull such bad chips on the second-to-last round? (Also, I love that you get to play board games with people during your lunch break at work! I'm very jealous!)

@@BoardGameDave it was super funny. I introduced Board Games to them before and maintained a shelf of some for them to access whenever they want. I did an experiment if they would like BGs and they did! So often times we play during lunchbreaks or even after office hours 😆. We are a fairly small company so I don't mind lending them my games and they're very careful of handling them to my convenience.

I really appreciate that! 😊 And that's okay... although I really should have filmed my first/practice playthrough when I won 15-12! 😅 I think that's such a great idea to show your mom! I've actually been meaning to send this link to my dad so he can try the solo mode since he loves Splendor and plays a lot of Solitaire (the card game)! I'll do that tonight! (And I am feeling a bit better since recording that... thank you!)
