Its always nice to finish a trip with a decent fish or 2. Nice video, was enjoyable as usual.

I really should have put more time into the fishing as my luck was pretty good considering how many lines I threw in the water 😉

Another great trip Kris. It is truly a gift from the camping gods when the weather turns in your favour. Let’s get “Flipper Lake” submitted to whoever we have to in order to get that lake named or renamed. Looking forward to the next trip as always Dave

Haha, thats a great idea! Maybe Flipper Pond would sell it to them? The good weather is coming.......👍

The Soggy Bottom Pizza vid…. we know it would have still been scrumptious - we figure it was preparatory for reminding you how to eat proper with a fork and knife before you go overseas. Thanks for the vid Kris!

Haha. I would definitely caught some grief if i had made it for other companions on the multi person trips. Just glad it happened while I was solo so I won't have to hear about it for years 😂😂

Look at you becoming a fisherman now too! Nice trout Kris! Glad you stayed that extra day. With the NS weather being what it is I usually try to prepare for whatever the season brings and deal with it in the woods. Sometimes it backfires, but you usually get a good story or memory out of it!

I agree, especially if your opportunities to get out are limited... Better to just get out there most times. 👍

You definitely need to manage the soggy factor with the naan bread, I guess I should have mentioned that! We often use a reflector oven.

I think a more established fire would have worked better, but great recommendation. It was way tastier than my last one and I dont mind a soggy crust! Thanks again!

I have moved away from the “mechanic” gloves in favour of full grain leather gloves. I have found that they hold up much better. The mechanic gloves are great for dexterity but not for heat protection. My Tilly also is a cheese fiend and snuggle bug. Other than my daughter, my pup makes trips that much more enjoyable. Keep the videos coming, it’s nice to see a fellow Bluenoser putting out local content.

Thank you! And totally agree about the gloves. I have a full grain pair from costco that are better for durability, but the mechanix were always good for the warm weather (except since i've started burning my fingers lol).

@@thecoffeefuelledwoodsman After hearing the sizzle of flesh on several occasions with mech gloves, I have steered clear, and not just doing outdoor stuff!

Thank you again for the great video. The pizza wasnt that bad, lol. Side question - what things should I look for when buying a used canoe? Any feedback is appreciated. Cheers.

Hmmm... my friend dave got an almost new novacraft for a very reasonable price. He needed one he could carry but no plans for whitewater, so a fiberglass type was good. Mine is really light, but would be considered fragile for rough use. The beauty of canoes is that you can patch easily. The spf plastic ones can be heavy, but are super robust and can be patched. Personally, I would try to keep it under 60lbs if possible. The esquif canyon is about 70 i think but is super tuff. I do see people carrying those to the places I visit. I wouldn't get shorter than 15' as i want to be able to take 2 people and a dog and gear. A lot is personal preference tho and what you are gonna do with them. Hope that helps!
