That was great Mikey! Love that harbor and some day I hope to take my Solo Skiff there. You got lucky not only with the fishing but that afternoon and sunset was beautiful. I have never been there when it wasn't soaked in. LJ and even North and West was slow like you said, then after coming back to West of the point and from 200'-300', bait appeared and I switched the Sabiki to a P Line Minnow and caught and released 4 Bonitos and 4 11"-13" Greenbacks. One Greenback got two hooks from the treble in his mount, while he had 3 small bait fish still in his mouth. Greed will get you every time. No signs of Yellows or Tuna. Beautiful day at LJ. Tight Lines!

What rods are you using? I’m still a rookie looking for a good all around starting rod. Any recommendations?
@SDFishandSips3 жыл бұрын
I had phenix M1 inshore rod in this video. Check out the Daiwa proteus rods. They have all different sizes, weights, action, etc. Rods depends on what you will be fishing for. If rockfish make sure to have a lighter tip that will bend when they nibble on the bait.

are there Lingcod in San Diego?, seems no one shows vids on it, my Dad went on a boat with his friends after he retired from the Navy in the 90's and fished at the area near the Point Loma coastguard lighthouse with heavy kelp and swore he caught the same fish, California turned that area into an no fishing SMR protection zone marked red on map later on
@reedbarbour42993 жыл бұрын
Lingcod are all the way from Alaska through Baja They are just more prevalent in shallow water in the northern waters A little deeper and colder when you get south like that
@SDFishandSips3 жыл бұрын
Hey Richard. I've caught 3 lingcod in San Diego, and 1 was a keeper, right out front mission bay jetty.
