Love my Titan. I've got a couple of bags of twigs stored ready for the next hurricane here in Southwest Florida. I also purchased a couple of bags of Oak Smoking Chunks from the grocery store and processed them down to about thumb thickness. Works great for me and always ready for camping or emergencies. Thanks for the time and hacks.

Good tip....I have a belt dump pouch ,and when I am bushwalking, I pick up sticks and break them up and stuff my dump pouch ..when I get to my camp site, I have more than enough for 3 days worth of water boiling and meals. I wish the Solo Stove would add *A TOP GRILL* to their stove, so you can put smaller diameter pots/ cups on top.

That would be nice. I have an aftermarket grill I use for those purposes, and for cooking fresh caught fish. It's the Expedition Research Original Bushcraft Grill. I think it cost $20.

@@TopsailOutdoorAdventures I'll look into that and see if it will fit on the Titan Solo Stove.

I have a Solo Titan stove on the way, and I was checking out different videos of people using them. I ran across yours, and realized your location was just a few hours drive from me. I live in central NC. It is good to see someone from my State. I had to subscribed to a fellow Tar Heel. Thanks for the videos, they are helpful, and educational. Good fishing, and Cheers.

Another hack: Use tree trimming loppers to cut thumb sized dry twigs, just long enough to gather and set inside the stove and stay below the inside holes. Gather them in a bundle and place them inside the stove, then shoving some into the stove bundle to make it tight, inside the stove. Put the stove, with bundled twigs, in the bag. It’ll carry and be ready for a piece of Vaseline cotton, when time to light on top, in the center. If you’re truck camping, take the loppers or small saw to cut more big twigs. Use a tripod or a grill, for stews, chili and grilled food. I usually let some big twigs/limbs burn down to coals before grilling. Kentucky

I collect all kinds of camping and Backpacking stoves. Own the SOLO Titan and the original SOLO Lite. Love them !! I, too, pack in wood for times of possible rain. Some places restrict you from bringing in non native wood, so I carry a dry bag of Hickory chunks (not the small chips) that I buy at Walmart in the Weber BBQ section. They are not restricted because they have been processed to food grade cooking standards. You do,, however need to know if a fire ban is actively in place. For those times I carry a Canister-style Primus CRUX Stove. Thanks for the review of the SOLO Titan.

Yep, I go with a canister in dry weather or when utilizing natural fuel is off the table. I will try out those hickory chunks you recommended. Thanks!

Here in Utah, we have Aspen trees in abundance. Aspen is a great fuel for twig stoves. It is east to harvest, east to split, ignites quickly. When I was in eastern Tennessee I tried some hardwood in my Canway twig stove and honestly I was surprised that Aspen will last equally as long as the hard stuff. My twig stove would quite possibly be one of the last preps I would be willing to give up.

I found the best hack for a Solo stove was to buy an Ohuhu stove then use the huge amount of money you saved to buy a titanium pot to put it in, along with a small bottle of hand sanitizer to use as a fire starter. Still have change for a sack of wood pellets, about a year's supply.

Ohuhu or Canway stoves, they are very hard to beat!

I carry wood pellets and a few sticks of fat wood incase there’s nothing dry available. Pellets are the most efficient fuel IMO.

I have yet to try wood pellets, but it's on my list. Someone else recommended them also. Thank you for the tip.
