Just ordered one of these at the sale price with the (almost) free Mesa XL tabletop as well - will be perfect for those van adventures! Wanted one for ages 😎

“We’ve got wood”. I am sure that was the strap line from viagra advertising 😂

Nice but how to Justify! Will it fit in the boot of the Cali? Height spec'd as 41.5cm, does this include the stand? Safari compact unlikely to fit inside and wood has to be carried, so not looking good for the boot. Could it be used in the living space as a stool or footrest? Yes but space compromise. Could it double up as an incinerator in the garden? Yes but incinerators can be bought for under £20 So the most likely use would be for a stylish garden fire pit. Maybe I'll reengineer a washing machine drum from the tip or use a cheap collapsible steel mesh pit

Slightly off topic but does a California have a Co2 monitor given it has a a diesel powered heating system.

No, there are battery powered portable ones suitable for recreational use, don't buy a cheap unbranded one go with something that is BSI Kitemarked.

Definitely not indoors!! A covered and open sided deck 👍 It was super windy and at risk of raining, hence why we took cover 💨

@mariathomas6144 Sparks flying... How fire-proof is that outdoor "carpet" and furniture? Weather proof doesn't mean fire-proof... definitely have to keep a very close eye on that. Presoak the sticks? I'd be presoaking the carpet and furniture. The heat radiating under the base alone would be enough to cause some serious damage.

@anthonycolbourne4206 the carpet underneath was absolutely fine, no sign of any heat damage whatsoever- the fire pit sits on a raised plinth that it comes with ensuring that the bit that gets hot does not go anywhere near the floor.

@anthonycolbourne4206 the furniture isn’t wood either :)

Did it burn your neighbours carpet? I would want more height off the ground

Absolutely not! The stand it comes with is fantastic and guards against that, especially as it has holes all the way round it too.

I’m married to a pyromaniac 🤦🏻‍♂ The buckets my mate uses as a fibreglass roofer burn incredibly well ( bit of a smell tho 😂)

Too bulky…Snow peak fireplace far more suitable for camping as it packs away flat .

Not even close as the best fire pit. A snow peak is a far superior product and it’s portable as well.
