I have never seen someone like you that goes to the extremes in bad weather as you do. I just cannot imagine walking through that wet mud with any boots that I own, those Jack Pike boots must be good.

Keep up the good work, love your honesty of reviews, your video style and your different take on this genre of video. You certainly don’t shy away from a challenge, that’s pretty miserable weather to be out in, you are more hardcore than me.

Thank you Mark! I always try to keep things fresh and stay away from what other people are doing. In all honesty I don’t watch many outdoors channels at all and so by doing that, I can’t be influenced and stay as original as possible! Always very much appreciated my friend! Thanks again 👍

Dry t-shirt, longjohns, rolled into a sausage, capped off at both ends with socks...best pillow ever. Alternatively, use them, if you get soaked through, putting the damp/wet stuff, in a carrier or dry bag, (which can also both be used for water collection) as a pillow, preventing wet stuff from soaking other stuff in your bag, when you break camp.

I love the sincerity...you couldn't start a decent fire and you didn't fake it. I think everyone after watching this ought to be prepared for that. I will be. As for a field pillow, a 2-3 gallon heavy mil plastic sack (canoe bag) stuffed full of soft leaves, wrapped in a shemagh or a sweat shirt always worked well for me.

My early British Army bivvies were virtually waterproof so I could do a setup like yours . Now most BA bivies sold on ebay are replicas and would do not keep me or my sleeping dry without a tarp. Due diligence required...thanks for the vids

Cool video, them tarp clips are very handy bits of kit to have around for sure, did you have a sleep pad inside your bivvy bag?, must admit, is handy to travel lightweight, even this time of year, for a pillow, I tend to wrap my shamagh around either drybag with my dry clothes in (only a sml 5ltr drybag, or wrap around my bushshirt or something like that, I can't get on with inflatable pillows either, enjoyable video, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig 🙏 🌿

Awesome camp mate. Like the British army basha. Nice pattern and the ex army stuff seems hard wearing. Agree the Arctic sleeping bag is hefty. Have one myself. Very comfy and cosy though I thought. How did you get on having the bivvy facing out into the rain? Did you get any leakage or did it stand up to the rain? I just wondered with the foot end whether it came through at all? Happy new year btw 👍

Question, I have a British ex-mil Bivvy and used it when we kayaked around Loch Shiel, as you mentioned, in summer, the midges were a nightmare. We slept on beaches and shingle so standing water wasnt a problem, I always found that no matter what goretex, (pants when kneeling or sitting) it cannot take the weight of a human pressing on it when sitting on boggy ground, all to do with the hydrostatic head I believe, so although waterproof above, not so below. Did you find anything like that an issue using it the rain, its currently stopping me modifying it with a velcro fly screen to try out in some wild areas. Oh I moved to Australia so the fly screen is also a vent, snake screen and spider screen.

Another good stealth camp, same set up as me including boucing bomb for winter camps but it does weigh a lot 3 kg I think ,so wot I've done is got onetigris lightweight patrol sleeping bag, which take you down 0 degrees and I combine it with British army jungle bag ,and I'm just as warm but with a lot less weight, happy stealth camping bud and keep them coming

Nice mate, Love the videos. You do need to do a bit more research in to camp fires in the wet ! It can be pissing down fa days bud, but ya should always be able to light & sustain a fire! It don't need a stove, its how you build the fire that's important, and the peroration. 1, Get the fire stuff together, All 3 stages!, 2, use the fire triangle !, 3, support, " tend" the fire ! Oh and 4, enjoy the warmth of your labours. Excellent to see this Channel growing, I love the open style with out any B,S. good on ya dude. I like the improvisation of mixing the kit up, its all relay good to see. Your giving tips & tricks on more than one level when you do things like that bud. big thumbs up mate. As for a good pillow, get a decent thick dry bag and then stuff it with what you have.

That was a wet one mate. Had same issue with fire recently, had to strip slightly larger pieces down to dry bits then do feather sticks . Time consuming but got fire ( in the end 😂) . Know what you mean about pillows to mate try using your spare clothes in a dry bag and a shemagh as a pillow case . Works for me . Interesting setup with the bivvy . Enjoyed vid mate keep em coming 👍. Take it easy fella .
