I LOVED watching perfect days... It was really such a lesson on contentment being a choice. The ending left me sobbing because I felt like watching my emotions on screen, how he laughed and cried at the same time... I dont think any words could relate that kind of feeling. Also if anyone has a similar movie (theme, atmosphere...) pls recommend.

the ending reminded me of the ending in "call me by your name"!! i'd also recommend "kamome diner" (2006) for similar understated vibe, "lost in translation" (2003) captures the subtlety of emotion -- differs in style but left me with a similar feeling of gratitude at the end.

Hi Julie: I missed you, but I always feel you are doing well and your spirit will brighten you, when it's needed. Fashion week had started earlier this year in Korea, so I felt you would be very busy. Because you are a model my thoughts have been with you and sending little boosts to remind you how strong you know you are and how confident as well. I've admired you for awhile now though, so that is not going to change. I believe life just happens, little lessons get thrown in your path and sometimes they cover you and you have to struggle a bit to lift them off. When I'm under the cover, I look around for any sign to brighten it and say thank you. I told you a long time ago about a mother deer leaving her fawn with me while she went off to feed. Each year, I see the deer and this year, I happened to see her again. We stayed close to each other while another deer a companion casually walked around us, unafraid of me. I think 15 or so minutes had passed, and the visit was over. I am a shy person, and my health has been bad. I had to go into emergency a while back because I had been roughed up, for no known reason, I have a history with the cruelest people just knocking me down, sadly I am used to it. My heart is very big, so I do things that make people happy by my own nature, and it is a great comfort. In your vlog you went to a friend's opening, what was she selling, I wasn't sure. She had a beautiful white dress on that looked great with the interior and the items for sale in white. I hope it goes well for her. I am rereading my romantic story and will start writing again so that will be nice. Enjoy your reading, school and work. Enjoy each day as well, I think you can do anything!!! so happy to see you julie! it was such a lovely and inspiring vlog. congrats on your first solo trip! really wanted to share some of my thoughts on "perfect days". it's been 2-3 months since I watched it but my best friend watched it not long ago and we just keep discussing it and coming to new conclusions. I liked the movie, its atmosphere and colours, but (my friend feels the same) this movie is not about happiness for me. we thought a lot about it and realized that happiness is in being AND becoming. as the second part was non-existent in the movie, it felt passion-less and a little dreary to me. slow life doesn't mean you should shut yourself off the world and do the same things every day. and overall, the last scene seems too strange to me (half-smiling and half-crying in the car) as if the main character was suppressing something in himself this whole time. hope it wasn't too heavy!
