Well done sir! You remind me alot of me with wanting to make sure there's no more peaks up at the top etc. There's been probably more than a couple of summits I've done where I was running around to every high spot...just to be sure lol

Awesome vid! We appreciate you breaking some trail for us :p. We ended up hiking the day after you and the conditions were perfect! Also made a short clip about our adventure on our channel. Subbed!

@digitalbuckets was laughing when she said “I’m never doing this again” haha enjoyed your video. A lot less windy on your day! Glad you enjoyed 🤙🏽

Looks like an epic trip you’re on there. I also own a 99 3rd gen with a similar build and have been contemplating a trip out west like this. Keep up the good work and enjoy!

Thank you! It’s definitely been an experience for sure, but every state and place I arrive in and see is amazing. Of course I’m chasing mountains but no matter your reason, totally worth it.

How was the hypoxia up there? We drove up the parking lot this past spring and that 9200 feet was enough to make me feel a little short of breath. I am a sea level baby and have been at sea level my whole life.

Probably would mess with most people unless you ski a lot at resorts. I have asthma and still climb mountains during any condition, I work a bit extra because of it but live my dreams out. I’d say this climb was most difficult due to the thickness of snow, but otherwise oxygen and elevation didn’t bother me like some have before.

Great video. I’m heading out this weekend. Gonna go for an attempt. First time heading to AZ. Do I need a recreation pass or anything? I’m getting a small sedan rental from the airport on phoenix so what are your thoughts on parking and access? Thanks! Alex.
@hikerxplore2 жыл бұрын
Hey Alex, this area is called the snow bowl because it dumps snow most the winter, if they haven’t received any since I was there a while ago you’ll be fine. The trail head is located at the top of the highway at the parking lot of the snow bowl road. No permits required, and the road does get plowed, just be cautious before going up the road without tire chains. I recommend an early start for summit bids as this hike is a long one! If there’s no fresh deep snow, shouldn’t be too hard to get up there as mine was after a winter storm.

@@hikerxplore appreciate the response! I’m looking forward to it. Only thing deterring me is I can’t find my snowshoes. I do have winter traction chains for my boots. Might have to buy a last minute set. Thanks again

@@AMoose454 You can always rent some on your way north from the airport, I’m sure there’s an REI or something that would rent some MSR EVO, if they haven’t received any new snow, you could probably do the whole summit with micro spikes.

@@hikerxplore yup. The REI here in Michigan does have some Tsl 217 snowshoes. Considering that grabbing those real quick. Kudos for all the help

Nice video! How long did it take you from Car to Summit? From car to car?
@hikerxplore7 ай бұрын
I spread the whole ordeal out for 3 days, 5am start and suffer through snow to 12k feet to camp by maybe 5-6pm, then hit the summit and back on day 2, and morning of day 3 back to car around 1-3pm, took my time and tried not to get lost. Watch the video for the rest of the fun lol
