This will be long... I stumbled across your channel this weekend. I'm on the downhill side of 50, and live in Texas, where something like 98% of the state is privately owned. My 20 year old daughter and I watched a bunch of your videos, and couldn't get enough! Alaska is on my bucket list, but man, Michigan ain't lookin' too bad either! We enjoyed your Cast and Blast videos! Most of what you do is so foreign to what we know. You have the perfect personality to tell your adventure stories through video. I especially enjoyed you talking about the 30-06, that belonged to your great-grandfather, or was it your grand-father? Either way, I noticed the low power scope, on the pump gun and it made sense once I saw all that brush you contend with! I shoot a .243, with a 6x24x50, and can wait a lifetime for the perfect shot, usually from a box blind, with a heater! Don't hate on me, that's just how it's done down here! I started fly-fishing in 2020, and haven't used conventional tackle much since. I I'm doing my best to not become a fly snob! Your channel has taken me back, to when I was your age-ish, owned a bass boat and started leaning towards striped bass and white bass as my preference. I'd kind of forgotten how much fun you can have on both baitcasters and light spinning gear too! If I ever buy another boat, a jet drive is on my wishlist. I hadn't seen one used except Alaska, and along the Snake River. Oh, and I had forgotten about the huge stripers in TN. I've said all of that to say, "Great Work!" Thanks for sharing your content! As for a Cast and Blast suggestion...you ever hunt turkey up there? My two passions are calling up turkey in the spring and the whitebass spawn. Unfortunately, I always had to pick between the two as they always run simultaneously!

Hey Kyle another great one! Question on your spawn bags for surf. Do you use your cured eggs that you've demoed in the past? A lot of people seem to talk about using fresh spawn for surf fishing. I had some uncured eggs i froze but they turned to mush. Too late for this year, but looking for some tips for next year. Thanks
@rickiex Жыл бұрын
you ALWAYS cure your eggs, it protects it from decomposition and helps with water/solution retention.
@bryanmallison3967 Жыл бұрын
I never cure my surf eggs. In 20+ years of surf fishing, I’ve caught maybe 3 steelhead on cured eggs. When I freeze them, I use ziplock sandwich bags and suck the air out of the bag. I put enough in each bag for a days worth of fishing. Thawing is important as well. When I thaw, I submerge the part of the bag with eggs in a bowl of water and stick it in the fridge. I’d say 80% of my eggs thaw and fish well.
