I'm out on the Fiido E-Bike to have a Solo Winter Camp under my Wax Canvas Tarp from @thornhill_ultraheavy. I cook up a venison casserole with my homemade sausage & enjoy the woodlands peaceful ambience.
I use freshly harvested fatwood to start the fire and manage to stumble across some great, dry dead standing hornbeam to fuel the fire for the night.

Lovely camp, surprised we have never crossed paths up there, always camping and knocking about round that area, nice quiet spot that, know it well! Also used to beat on the local buttermilk shoot not too far away too. Great area we have on our doorstep 👌🏻 Rich

That looked a really enjoyable camp, in a stunning woodland. Nice and chilled, just perfect. I've made beef jerky myself many times, how long will it keep in when you vacuum pack it. You should drink the water and after 10 min pee on the embers. You are hydrated and the fire is out with no water wasted.

Never made sauages myself but would love to give it a go. Enjoyed learning about fat wood and want to start looking for some myself. Hello primal, great video, 1 question please, how long does the fat wood last if you store it and was it from the spruce tree ? Sorry thats 2 questions. Thanku , safe camping

Thanks so much for watching, Glad you enjoyed it! Fat Wood can last indefinitely if stored well, the resin acts as a preservative, it's great for long term storage for this reason. Also, yes spruce is a great candidate as are most resinous pines & firs :)
