After parking at Seathwaite farm I head up Grains Gill which leads me to Ruddy Gill. I then reach Esk Hause and turn right before stopping to collect water. I soon reach Scafell Pike summit which is surprisingly quiet, a 10 minute pit stop I then carry on to Mickeldore. After sometime searching for a spot for the night I end up moving to another location Broad Crag Tarn and set up camp there which is a spot I’ve camped at before.
Dark soon comes and the temps plummet, the night is very calm with no wind and temps seem to stay just above freezing. Dawn soon breaks and is all clear with fantastic views but very chilly. My route back down takes me back up to nearly Scafell Pike summit before following the Tourist Route back down to the head of Piers Gyll and then picking up the Corridor Route to Styhead Tarn after I climb the Bad Step. Before I know it I’m back at Seathwaite Farm and my adventure is over, a very mixed bag of weather with varying temperatures and some snow still around.
Disclaimer:
Hiking and camping in the mountains is an amazing experience. Being in the outdoors is very good for the mind, body and the soul. However the weather in the Lake District can change very quickly from a calm sunny day to totally clagged in and freezing cold.
Please hike and camp within your own abilities and with the correct equipment / clothing for the time of year.
Please Stay Safe and enjoy the outdoors responsibly.
Take only memories, leave only footprints, Thanks for watching ATB Karl.

New sub here, superb views, I`ve somehow managed to avoid the snow so far but definitely want to do a snowy camp before the melt. Some good information to digest there. Brew time is a special time for me, anyway how`s your knees that looked like an extremely long hike. PS, its so empowering to have the whole mountain to yourself. Chin chin

Super video and a cracking camp spot. That tarn you mentioned on the way back, up off the Corridor Route, is well worth a visit and camp - the views across to Gable are stunning. You're perched up on what feels like am amphitheatre. I hear you about people going out ill equipped, with no proper map, no proper gear and who, above all, won't listen even if they're speaking to someone obviously more experienced. If they don't listen to you, imagine how they ignore a lone female who is well equipped. Really enjoying your videos and the routes you choose. Look forward to more.

Thanks for watching and the kinds words I’m really glad your enjoying my videos hopefully there’ll get better 😂 That tarn is definitely on my to do list I’ve seen a few KZbin videos of people camping there. The amount of times I get asked for directions in the mountains from people who have know idea where there going with no basic equipment to keep them safe is crazy, you can only offer help wether they listen is another matter. Thanks for commenting and watching my video. I know exactly where you mean on Yewbarrow never knew that took the bad step name as well, but it is a tricky scramble did it last Winter, in fact both ends of Yewbarrow where a good scramble especially with a Winter pack. ATB Karl 👍

@@TheSummitexplorer69 Yeah thanks. Looked into it - there is re-wilding going on. Just not used to seeing it - very confronting at such low altitudes.
