Make sure you always carry a PLB.. it’s very reassuring when walking alone, though I now take mine everywhere since my daughter severely twisted her ankle on a little fell in the rain when no one else was around.

Love camping in the rain but warm and dry is a must! Blue 's face when packing up was priceless, he wasn't so sure it was a good idea. That is the thing with a bivy, unless i t is totally breathable there is gonna be moisture inside, especially around the footbox. Feet sweat more than people think they do. Lol. Thanks for sharing your rainy campout! :) :)

Yes the usual rain sound is lovely. This was a bit much 😂. This was actually water from the outside as my feet were off the end of the mat. Not too impressed by the bivvy but it’s enough to protect the sleeping bag. Thanks.

I'm glad you said "If your body can do it, get it done." Sadly my body can't do this type of camping any more but I do still love to go camping even though now I have to "play ladies" and have a camp stretcher as I'm not allowed to ever kneel again...specialist's orders. I used to camp in my swag or smaller tents etc. but now I can only do it through watching people like you getting out there and doing it and it brings back so many memories of some of the camps I have done. Thanks for taking us along with you and Blue.

Absolutely agree while you are there it is at times miserable but pushing through it makes you feel great afterwards. I have been asked why I go out in bad weather, and it is hard to explain to people who don't have the same mindset! Great video very inspiring, thanks !

awesome again, i agree with the summary of waterproofs - the more expensive, the longer you will stay dry. i carry a poncho for deluge conditions, but not really feasible in strong winds, it just gives the main jacket a help out when the chips are down.

that was great, camping in these conditions is the best. one thing that helps reduce the condensation you experienced is to put all your wet gear into dry bags and roll them up otherwise it all just ends up on the inside of the fly sheet. Looks like you had a blast there and Blue looked happy enough too, nothing seems to bother him!

You've got to admit that spending the night up there in that weather knowing you've got the right kit with you is a great feeling. I camped on Glaramara once in almost similar conditions however I've got to admit you win in the bad weather competition.

Just got back from wild camp in the Brecon Beacons thinking that 13 hours in a tent was an age but at least it only rained occasionally and I got a decent kip. My biggest problem was flat gopro batteries that I thought I'd charged before I left! You've made an awesome video of an epic trip once more. And I love Blue's expressions on this one!

Nice one! Reminds of one time at angle tarn when it got so windy at night I had to sit up all night holding the poles of the tent to stop them buckling. ( Big Agnes seedhouse 2). Thanks for sharing your trip.

Wow that was brutal! Well done for sticking it out. The lake District in those conditions is not for the faint hearted! Blue didn't look to enthused about getting out in the morning ha ha ha!

I switched to paramo jacket and sallopettes and have never been wet since. And take a small micro fibre or small sponge to dry the floor of the tent when you get it. Great video

I generally sleep a full night but get woken up a few times. I can sleep anywhere though. 😊👌
