I miss when the older dungeons were super populated- doing the dungeon trains was always really fun. I’m hoping that with the steam launch, it breathes some life back into some of those early dungeons! Fractals is still my go to as a daily, and WvW if I have some extra time. Mariner.5926

@@EinfachLuap that's the problem of gw2 since the begining i think overall no late game objective the pvp is bad and theirs is not a lot of good weapon skin to farm gw1 was better for all this with good pvp achievement and overall more pve and dongons you could do in a different way like ursan, 55 hp or perma. But i bought gw2 again last weak because i wanted to give it a try it is dead game ? Because when i looked on internet they sayed it was still good pop

@@SledgeHammerMindOpener It IS populated. Meta maps still get populated very quickly with a lot of overflow. Beginner zones are still littered with players running around doing hearts and stuff. Literally the people who are saying that its a dead game are the ones who think there is only 1 correct way to play end-game, or play a thousand hours and say "there's nothing for me to do anymore." If you play a game a thousand hours, don't people understand they already got their money's worth on what they paid?

@@Tempestchron Most of the "new" players on starting zones are the free heroic codes that they gave away for free in Alienware Arena, more than 15k codes were given away on different sites. And the majority of those free codes were grabbed by veterans, that is why the price of the mystic coins went from 2g to 60s. Most of the metas are the same. Farm materials for a legendary, hope for an infusion, repeat. They dropped the pve content, first with dungeons after release and now with raids after the last raid wing of PoF was released. The game has players yeah, but not the same amount as before. They virtually and fakely increased the player base with those free codes, forgot about pve, release new LS every 6 months. And now, because the EoD content was cleared in less than a week; the only strike update that we got were challenge motes, multiple fixes for the jade sea meta that was almost impossible to finish in order to get the turtle and it was so frustrating that they had to add an npc were you could buy the egg, the rewards of the meta were not worth at all that people moved back to Dragonfall and the turtle is only usefull just for 5 minutes to destroy the shield that is protecting the crystals on the jade sea meta, the "empty" map bug is still happening and no, It was not a bug, there are not enough players to fill multiple maps and that is why we need to use the LFG for it, and now they re-released LS 1 to fill in between missing content; funny thing is that they could've released LS 1 even before PoF was released and players were asking for this a lot of time before, they are just using LS1 as an emergency response. Most events are the same, balance is atrocious, pvp filled with bots, veterans duping infusions, the massive layoffs of 2019, the merge of the publishing division with NCSoft.. I love the game, but Anet dropped the ball a lot of time ago.

Absolutely love the old dungeon designs (so 5-man-content all the way!), particularly the old Honor of the Waves explorable paths. There was just something about the ice maps that really got me hooked in GW2 all those years ago. Back before HoT, it was also so much fun trying to clear content with two friends, one a Guardian and the other a mesmer. As a thief, I really felt like the "rogue" and backstabbing everything were the days. I recall after we got comfortable with how paths worked, we avoided using stealth skips because of the sheer enjoyment of engaging with the mobs and bosses. Had a real GW1 vibe. Demonhead.7584

I'm actually one of those guys, who enjoy just map exploring :D Since i'm busy and never really have a lot of time, outside of the weekend, PvP, dungeons, raids etc. never really worked for me. Playing with a guild activly was never really an option, cause I couldn't work with the schedules they sometimes provide, it was always so stressfull, so I always stayed a solo player and never really joined a guild. I just enjoy exploring maps over and over again with my characters and building slowly the achievments in each map up, every day a little bit here and there. I love having these small successes and discovering new little things in maps, I completed with my other characters already. I play gw2 now for 10 years, but my account is not very 'advanced' since I never played the game outside of solo content. While I myself never really play with class-builds, I find it always amazing, what more advanced players can achieve in this game with them :) Since i'm scared of hackers, I won't post my tag here sry :D But I hope other people have luck in the give away, I just wanted to share the thoughst I had to the question you asked :)

I absolutely love world bosses. Seeing a huge group of people come together to achieve a common goal is extremely satisfying. The early world bosses are also a great place to meet some of our newer players--especially after the steam launch--and give them one of their first big epic experiences (I'm looking at you shadow behemoth). My favorite World Boss is probably just Soo-Won. The amount of coordination it takes is incredible, and we are usually successful. Arcanus Rana.5376

Hey man, this is unrelated to this video but I wanted to drop by and give you this message. I was the core guard "Character Developer" in a game with you the other day on your harb. While it was cool to play with you, I just wanted to say thank you for the content you've put out covering so many professions and aspects of the game. I played a ton on launch and quit a few months before HoT came out. Didn't play again till after EoD was released, and the only reason I had any idea what was going on and how/what to play was binging your videos. Your in depth explanation of mechanics, builds, aspects of PvP and nuances to certain niche portions of the game was exactly what I needed to catch up after the years being away. I just hit plat today, and I would like to think a big portion of that was due to you, so thank you. Love the content, keep doing what you're doing, it's making an impact on the game and the community.

Videos/Projects like this are really inspiring! It takes some conscious efford to not just search a group and do the content quickly.. From other videos I always assumed soloing things requieres super specific builds, equipment swapping and items like executioners axe, feathers and portals. So I have never soloed anything ^^ Instead I play PvP, Fractals and Raids In PvE I always search for people using "some ufe" or "some li, exp." in the lfg to attract some newer people without having to explain anything usually. This seemingly doesnt repell fractal gods and raid overlords, because they join very often ^^ Reached 20k ufe recently :D In PvP my goal was to win 200 games on every class - I completed that yesterday playing some meta and niche, aswell as some of your builds :D Now its time to learn the recent meta builds and try to hop into some tournaments, which I havnt really played yet. Am always ranked somewhere between g2 and p1 :/ Tried WvW in Squads and solo/duo - both experiences were a mix of frustrating and boring with only a few fun moments. The Squad was lots of lovely people on Abaddon and later Piken and my role was often bubble warrior, which made me feel well supported by my hfb friends c: That time is over, hours of roaming around fighting people were sometimes fun, but I'd rather not touch WvW for a while, even tho I just transferred to Vabbi for a friend. --------------- Challenge ideas: Am currently absolutely not in this bubble, but maybe I can come up with some half baked stuff. I'd like to see some general challenges done efficiently on different builds, like the pit in verdant brink, the shining blade trials and such things - Other than that and potentially trying to downscale gear, it's all covered. Challenging levelling, soloing, speed clearing, random builds, core builds, (jp skips, racing, playing instruments) - the only thing that could add to that is playing with weird controls or other external influences. Thanks for your awesome content! Good Luck everyone c: Sorry for my sometimes poor english ^^ Froggybeef.1762

Thanks for free 40 gold back on that stream! It was a great idea and a lot of fun to watch those open world builds in action, and now I'm also considering paying those dungeons a visit! Aside from that, I like all manner of activities in GW2. Personally, I'm more into solo or small scale explorative gameplay, be it open world events, group content or roaming in the Mists. Although the speedrun approach to fractals and dungeons we tend to have nowadays kind of ruins the exploration and roleplay part to me, and sadly I don't have a solution to that besides maybe finding a noob friend or two to turtle through the content (wink wink). Aside from that, I love the way GW2 handles large scale content too, with huge epic meta events, world bosses and zerg fights, so I do these too from time to time! And last but not least, I know that roleplaying scene in the game isn't huge, but I like casually indulging in it from time to time. As an old time roleplayer coming from WoW of all games, it's impossible to play a roleplaying game in any other way anymore. Oh and the tag is eldrevo.1746 in case you forgot :P

I love this challenge! I agree with your philosophy that just doing most optimal for fastest isn't as interesting as taking limitations. The speedclear strategies are useful for farming gold but it makes me a little sad these days how much of the game is played in a way to avoid interacting with its design, just to skip over it. This makes me want to take on a similar challenge to enjoy this now often forgotten or underappreciated older content 👏 ps- I hadn't gotten to the giveaway yet so here's my entry: I play everything! What's kept me playing so long is if I ever feel tired or frustrated with one thing, I just rotate to a different mode, class, or build. I burned out on fractals and raids so I went to strikes, but right now I'm taking a break from level 80 pve content and leveling a character from 1-80 in open world. It's been super nostalgic and interesting to play along with new and returning players, answering their questions and getting their fresh perspective on the game. I'm also learning support for spvp instead of always playing roam or teamfight roles. And of course, going for zerg fights with my 25man guild. -eyestrain.3056

great clip again! I always like to see how you manage these things and is really good to see the fails too. Now to the things I would like to see. hmm, I'll try to paraphrase it. I started building the _Bifrost_ a long time ago (without precursor)...and now I'm stuck (book 3) because I need _"Jade Maw's Eye Lens"_ ...(I play almost solo). I would like to know if this is soloable and if so - which class would be suitable. I suspect that the other Legendary Weapons (Gen 1) also need some of the fractal bosses. It would be asking too much to search all 16(?) weapons for their fractal items... whereby _"Incinerator III: Spark"_ is probably the leader among the necessary fractal visits (I think more then 6 fractals).

I believe you can solo COF P1. I've done it with a Necro using flesh worm and spectral walk. To get past the 4 brazer part just before the last boss. What you need to do is after the acolyte phase you can teleport to the back half of the flaming sphere tunnel and run into the Brazer room. If you get the timing right and the distance you can get into the Brazer room, destroy the gate panel. Waypoint back to the acolyte room and then use your spectral walk and worm to complete the flaming sphere room. This gives you access to the final boss.

Nice video, I like when people show off the intricacies of GW2 combat and encounters, whether that be through soloing or through Competitive PvP game modes. I agree, speed runs in PvE are cool sometimes, but it ignores so many of the small details that would otherwise missed and builds or synergies due to the relatively one dimensional nature of PvE optimisation and power creep.

Such an insanely cool way to show off content AND viability of lesser-played builds! Thanks for the video! My fav content is probably fractals, although I love where strikes are going since EoD. Playing HealBrand makes me feel like a hero when I can rallying the group out of rough situations, and fractals give some of the craziest variety when it comes to "rough situations". Thats what i really enjoy, though my map completion is at 50% so I'm literally throwing myself back and forth on story and exploring. I been playing for 4 (maybe almost 5) years and I have no flying at all. Just bought LW4 a couple days ago and still trying to finish it. So my pain and suffering to exploring is with raptor and springer. I just recently found your channel out of boredom and want to see what content players are doing, like wvw or open world stuff. In LW6 For Domain of Anguish I want them to take gw1 vanquishing and a scalable dungeon and put it in a huge (Open world sized) map gain rewards when all mobs/events are cleared, but have mobs scale with amount of players (DMG, Health, Mechanics, etc) allowing for solo's or 5-10 people to spread out and take down thing faster. I want gw2 to have more scalable content. I don't have 10 friends that wanna do the exact same things I want to do, but I might have 2 friends. Which allow us to do 3 man content (Which obviously doesn't exist)

One of my hobbies is to take new players to one of the three content Fractals/Strikes/Raids and if they are willing I will help them to get started but it is up to them then keep doing the content 😁 I tried PvP but my mentality can't handle it ... I'm too competitive while also being sore loser ... I rather not. WvW I'm just waiting the new Beta to hit so I can join with our Guild. Jumping Puzzles now and then are my kind of Gem, I think I'm only one from my in game friends who enjoys the jumping puzzles :D once a month I might seek new jumping puzzle that I have not done. Lion's Ark alone there are three 😉 good luck figuring out what is the third. Hint, you can do it using mounts 😦 Open world, Open World Map Events and Open World World Bosses are now and then always fun to go take part on 😁 And currently super slowly getting my Legendary items 2/6 armor done for medium 🤤 I'm just getting Provisional Tokens 10 a month 😓 I'm lazy. I enjoy as much as I can 👍 half of my game time is KZbin videos 😏 I clock +100 hour on all professions beside warrior 80h and guradian 34 hours 🤔 I would like to claim I know my stuff but someone said I can't know shit because I have low master points and achievement points 😂 I don't hunt those I just get them at random ... total play time roughly 1700h (+as much on KZbin) I will pass on the community chest, you can add me as Joke having to roll the price for two people 😏

Great. I've been thinking from the first moment I played that soloing dungeons would be so hard yet so cool if pulled off. Keep up with the good content and you'll soon see your numbers increase. Can you tell me what armor skins are you wearing in the thumbnail or at 11:00 please?

WvW and Open World have been my yin and yang for 10 years. I love the rpg aspect of open world, and nothing can scratch that ‘open world pvp’ itch like WvW. Thanks for the videos! Chak Sabersting.8359

I'm mostly a solo player, but I enjoy world bosses and large scale events like on Dragon's Stand, but I'd like to do more dungeons, because they were fun, but noone seems to play them anymore, which is a shame. Oh and the best part is choosing the look of every equipment, I can do that for several hours just to realize I haven't been playing at all. Drake Damnation.7914

Love doing all the raids (and strikes missions I guess)! Truly love that nerdy feeling of learning all the bosses attacks and how our guild can become better to deafet it. Frolkie.8053

Fun concept! I've played since the start and I still think levelling and gearing up new characters is way fun. I love exploration and completion, so just roaming around maps finding hidden nooks and crannies and seeing the completion numbers fill out is the dream life for me. Good luck with the chests everyone! BrotherofShadows.7426

I am in love with Mesmer, especially Mirage. I am a fairly new player of GW2, so I like to play it in as many different types of content as I can. I try to adapt my gear and build to what that type of gameplay requires, rather experimenting than just copying popular builds. def.6259

I like doing pve the most, and I wish there were more challenging solo content, for sure, there is zero of that in the game and these solo challenges show how fun that can be!

Idk if you allowed exploits/cheese strats but in cm p1 there is a safe spot where frost can't touch you (i believe it applies to the golems too but haven't used it recently to know if it works)

I do all dailies and very little else. I retired over 20 years ago and find dungeons and raids with others too taxing. I played WoW before GW2 and was in a raiding Guild, but the strain on my social life of needing to turn up for 2 raids a week was too much. At one time I was the only healer, so they could notraid without me. I hated that, so now I rarely raid with my Guild, and I'm generally too slow ( I live in a small spanish village with poor internet). I still love ths game and hope in never fills up with toxic children as happened in Wow.

I'm still relatively new to gw. Don't really have any friends. In a guild that doesn't even talk. That being said I am level 80 on my ranger and now just doing story content. Prior to that I was enjoying open world content. I doubt I will be a hardcore raider though in my future endeavors.

Isn't there stuff that needs a minimum number of players in some of the dungeons to clear them? I seem to remember something like that in Arah.

I liked the old dungeons before they were powercrept. The whole path is important and not only the boss(es) itself. But I also like to play with a group. Nowadays raids are more similiar to "old" dungeons, because you often have events inbetween and the bosses don't die in seconds.

I did not think the dungeons had so much nuances to its mechanics until I saw your solo challenge, which makes me wish Anet revitalizes it with a modern update for newer players to enjoy. Personally, I would love the epic grand feel of WvW but the lag for its optimization and my location having high ping does not give me the best experience. So going with raids to take down an epic boss with a squad has always felt great but intimidating or difficult to start groups with. Mirou Shinji.2374
