Heard this while binge watching House on Peacock. Love this song. Great vibe and the lyrics are straight to the heart: "None of us are free if one of us is chained none of us are free." So true. The late great Solomon Burke just killing it. Blind Boys of Alabama singing background vocals. Nice tight groove. Love it. Rest In Peace, King Solomon. Rest In Peace.

Listening to this in Nairobi June 2024 in the middle of protests and a revolution against an oppressive, traitorous and murderous regime and the message rings so true

In USA, we're finally, after 4 yrs (12 counting the terms of the first non-citizen president, born in Kenya) of oppression, unconstitutional "laws"/mandates, insanity, lawlessness..we are finally getting back to being a nation of laws, freedom, sanity, honoring the Constitution. Thank God for protecting Pres DJT. Deep staters all around the world are in panic, on the run. A"golden age" is coming.

Disagree. I’m here after the election as well, America finally escaped the chains of phony democracy. No longer are we just pawns, Americans finally get a chance to rebuild with a proven leader. Could care less what he says, have no shame saying I voted for the best option available. What we had, what she was trying to wouldn’t have been “free” they were taking Americans backwards not forwards and the economy displayed that.

@@taylorberg12 have fun getting drafted to invade Canada or Greenland just because. The "proven leader" you voted for is also a proven felon and a rapist that's threatening to invade it's long time allies. You ain't free, just dumb enough to be convinced you are.

After the pure hell and reminder that the civil rights movement is still happening and will ALWAYS be happening I have such an appreciation for this song. The pure struggle of what it’s like being Black or BIPoC in general is just resonating from his voice.

None of us are free if one of us is chained. That's all you need to take away from this, and it doesn't matter what the chain is made of, or if one of us "deserves" the chains they wear. If one of us is chained, none of us are free.
