Look..the barz you're not catching COULD be a few reasons....1, you gotta remember....most of his slang is from the nyc area circa late 80s early 90s....a very different time and the beginning of the golden age of hip hop....2, a lot of references of cartoons along with some ....we'll say people he had crossed within the industry...along with outside escapades out the booth...doom was a ol skool lyricist...a purist...the lyrics coincide with the lifestyle...it was/is an expression of who he and a few other artists are...listen to Viktor Vaughn...you will get a clear picture of how the movement was during that time period ...doom was ahead of his time lyricly...thats why Madlib wanted to work with Him...and why that album will always be a classic...im glad the younger cats are studying his music...
