Concerning these older ferry boats you can still see them in the Philipinnes. I took two ferries there and the vessels were made in Japan as I could see. On the rear deck they reformed it to have covered sleeping decks for second (third) class overnight bunk beds with plenty of open air ventilation. I took the airconditioned business class and also stayed in a cabin. They' re still going strong there!

Matter of fact, two of Hankyu Ferry's ships, the previous Yamato and the Tsukushi now sail for the leading ferry line in the Philippines, 2GO Travel as the 2GO Maligaya and the 2GO Masagana, respectively.

For such a new vessel, that entrance hall is less than impressive. Some others have been understated by design, but that one? I found nothing to praise. With so many vehicles waiting, you ought to have NOT been surprised at the numbers in the restaurant queue.

I find many female Japanese voices very pleasant to listen to. The lightness of tone and the unexpected (to an English ear) phrasing and modulation is as soothing as music or poetry. Of course, it helps that I have no idea what the lady in this video is saying. It's not quite so soothing if she's giving instructions on how to inflate a life-jacket and fight off marauding sharks... 🦈😳

Apparently the Yamato name is a favored one that is used by Hankyu Ferry. In fact, here in the Philippines, the previous name holder (built in 2006) is in service as the 2GO Maligaya.
