Thanks very much, Mike. I also come from a networking or data center background, and your approach always makes me understand the fundamentals easily. For calculating data transfer over 24 hours, another approach would be to consider that we measure data in bytes and speed in bits, and that there are 3600 seconds in an hour. 1 Gbps in 1 hour would be the same as 1 Gbps * 3600 seconds = 3600 gigabits or 3.6 terabits in 1 hour. So, the data transfer rate in 24 hours in bytes would be 3.6 * 24 / 8 = 10.8 terabytes. Or, it could be calculated simply as (1 Gbps * 24 * 3600) / (8 * 1000).

There are several ways we can run the same calculation. It’s just how we calculate it. That’s one thing I have always loved about math - we can approach in several ways and get to the same results.

Thank you so much Mike! I really appreciate that you not only gave us the possible interview questions but you also explained how to answer them properly and why! I see why you always exaggerate competency. I’m going to study this amazing video very well

Another great video Michael. Understanding the Disaster Recovery options is crucial for a Cloud or Solutions Architect. Preparing for the worst case scenario should be the primary focus as if a disaster will happen because what can go wrong will go wrong.

Very well explained , however it would have been more effective if there is some process flow, architectural diagrams as well, which makes it more effective.

another reason we cannot get 1.8TB of data through the link is because of packet loss.
@GoCloudArchitects Жыл бұрын
There should be almost no packet loss on a private line or direct connection unless there is a problem with the link

@@GoCloudArchitects I agree with you in theory however, in practice there always be some network partition in any distributed system and should be taken in account.
