My laptop is an HP EliteBook). 2. From the Setup Menu, select “BIOS Setup.” 3. In the BIOS Setup Menu, navigate to the “Advanced” tab and choose “Boot Options.” 4. In the Boot Options Menu, uncheck the box next to “Fast Boot” and press the “Esc” key twice. 5. On the Exit screen, select “Yes” to save the changes. The command “bootsect /nt60 sys” didn’t work on me and it had some failed response, also the “Add installation to boot list” didn’t work. However, I still tried to do this fix. When I turned off my pc, I removed the bootable USB drive before turning my pc on again. When I turned my pc on, I went to BIOS and made sure that the boot drive priority is the Windows Boot Manager. After that, it just worked. I don’t how this fix worked on my end but I’m really thankful that it did. This is the only tutorial I found helpful. Thank you!

For anyone having this issue on a asus motherboard, open your bios and click "boot manager" in the bottom right and just click one of the 2 at the top. (I had 2 "boot managers" in my list and clicking the second one made me start up normally)

You may also find that the BIOS is corrupted. Reloading a fresh BIOS solved my problem. Nothing else worked - until I replaced the BIOS I could not get the PC to boot from any other drive, recovery disk, windows installation disk, or even a cloned copy of the boot drive.

It didn't work for me 😢. I rebooted my pc after reinstalling windows and I got it again. So disappointed to get this after saving money for a new PC for so long. I wonder if I maybe broke something when I activated amd expo (it's off now). 😢😢

Thats unfortunate. 😔 If you have successfully reinstalled a fresh copy of Windows on your drive, there should not be any issue with respect to corrupted boot. I believe that AMD Expo is activated from BIOS. In case it can't be reverted back then, you may try re-flashing your system's motherboad with new updated BIOS from the manufacturer's website.

I figured the issue out. For me the ssd was not properly seen by the bios. To explain: The bios would recognize the drive being installed, however it wouldn't see it in the boot menu. Turning on some compatibility boot options entirely fixed the issue for me. Good luck everyone.@@tinytips4823

All the issues in my videos are the problems I encountered myself. Let it be software or to some extent hardware. I try to find articles, documentations or anything that addressed similar issue. This is my main source of research. Then I try all, that I found, on my system. If it works, I try to reproduce the issue, if possible. If it resolves the issue again, I record my steps. I have worked as SDET long time back for MS as my client. So, many technical stuff I have encountered during those days. I have read and used their test cookbooks and also created some. May be it adds up when I do research on a topic. Windows repair never worked for me during boot related issues. I sometimes think why is that they are even giving it as an option for troubleshooting.

We can try some troubleshooting: 1. The storage device is physically connected well. 2. Reset the BIOS configurations. There is always one option in the BIOS depending on the system, that will reset the BIOS to factory defaults. Then check if the error goes away or not. 3. From command prompt, we can start 'diskpart'. Then we can 'list disk'. Then we can select the primary disk of our system with 'select disk number'. Once the disk is selected, we can do 'list partition'. Then we can select the system partition with 'select partition number'. Then we can set it 'active'. Then 'exit' the diskpart. Then we restart our system. 4. On command prompt we can run 'chkdsk c: /r' and 'chkdsk c: /f' (where c: is the drive with OS. you can list volumes in the disk part and check each volume for presence of the windows directory) 5. we can try from command prompt: bootrec.exe /fixmbr, bootrec.exe /fixboot, bootrec.exe /scanos, bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd

for people having two or more HDDs/SSDs in their PC, sometimes when this shit occurs, it changes the order of drive such that main booting HDD will go in least priority... try putting the main SSD into first priority and it will boot.

There may be multiple reasons that might be causing issue. But the most common I have seen and I once encountered was bad CMOS battery. In my case, replacing the CMOS helped.

You may create a bootable USB for your windows and boot from it. Choose to repair. And from there go to troubleshoot and then command prompt. Use that prompt for the commands.

It seems like there may be boot record error. You may try to safe boot with networking into your system. Search on internet to check for to login into the safe boot for your system as per its model and manufacturer. Once you are into the safe boot then in device manager you need to check if there is any error showing in IDE SATA AHCI controller name. Try updating it. Then restart system. If this doesnt work then you need to make a bootable windows installation media USB as per your windows version. I have covered this or you can find plenty of articles on this. Then you need to boot into the installation media. Try repair your system and system restore option. If it doesn't work then, open troubleshooting administrator command prompt. This i have shown the installation media part in the video. On command prompt, you can try some commands like: 1. chkdsk f /r C: (where c is the system drive in the command). 2. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth 3. sfc /scannow 4. bootrec commands as mentioned in the video. Successful execution of the commands should resolve corrupted system files and the problem. Unless the disk is not failed physically. These are the steps I generally follow, for troubleshooting, when there is any boot related issue on my system. I will try to create a video on this by recreating the error. If i can recreate the error then the solution will be tried and tested, instead of just troubleshooting steps.

You can create one using another system. Microsoft provides Media creation tool on its website. It can be used to create a bootable Windows installation media. You just need a USB drive. I would suggest an 8 or 16GB USB. Also it should be a blank USB with no data or unimportant data. This is because, in the process the USB will be formatted and if there is any data in it, it will be wiped. Creating installation media is very simple. Just few clicks here and there. Rest it does on its own.

Make sure if you are using the recovery environment command prompt. If it is not working then you may create a bootable USB for your windows and boot from it. Choose to repair. And from there go to troubleshoot and then command prompt. Use that prompt for the commands.

Solution 1 Go to bios and turn off or disable fast boot option this will may be solve your problem Solution 2 If you just cleaned your pc and this screen appears it means your drive is unplugged or disconnected accidentally so first try connecting your drive properly and then changing boot sequence Solution 3 if you have reinstalled your windows in other drive while one windows is already installed in your pc then you have two windows drive 1 have old windows and new window in drive 2 after some time if accidentally boot sequence of your pc is changed from drive 2 to drive 1 then may be drive 1 is corrupted or tried to delete old windows drive so some file are missing then you need to change boot sequence to drive 2 again
